Why is my hash hard?

It came out totally clean, and 100% blond.
I thought it needed to have that black look so I pressed it.

In the press and the oven it turned into this blond GOO plastic like melted plastic.

Now it has this kind of blond pressed look and black look but its not that wet taffy kind of stuff.

1. Smokes great
2. very flaverful
3. very amazing smell.
4. full melt.

but its freaking hard?

I believe that blackness comes from the purity; not the content of the hash but that plant matter involved with it. I use bubble bags, and my last couple screen are obsidian black. The first screens are greenish gray. When I mix them together to just lump it all up, I get the blond, sandy hue you speak of.

Not sure on your method of extraction, but ive seen people "try" to extract has using the Alcohol method and the stuff comes out so hard its hard to manage it without it shattering across the room.i just figured that they left the alcohol in with the bud or trim they were using for too long and it was hard because they extracted some chlorophyll.

You pressed it...

You either have oil that you can't press. Or you have something you can press.

And when you press, something that you can press... It get's hard.

Check my vid on this twice filtered hash, when I press down on it.

The black comes from the oxidation of the outer material. Good hash will be brown on the outside but lighter or "blond" in the middle. If you form the hash into a ball or coin and leave it, it will turn darker on the outside.

I would think putting hash in an oven would degrade the THC. You probably cooked the moisture out of it, making it hard like a burnt cookie.

Spot on my friend.

The outside will be darker as it is exposed to air and thus oxidizes. The interior should be blond since it is not exposed to the air.
