Why is my hoodlight making noise when power is on?

When I turn the power on light hood makes noise have 2 of the same hoods but different ballast the 1 with he new smaller ballast is hissing or homming or something what could this b:eyesmoke:bongsmilie

Its been a couple years since I used a ballasted HPS, but from what I remember mine made a humming sound while on. Seems pretty normal, unless its really loud.

That happened to me just before my lamp popped. Ended up the noise was from impurities entering the lamb (tube).
