A small wing of the Democratic party joined with the Republican Party and passed all major civil rights reform, be that the amendments that came after the civil war, the laws that came after the civil war, and all the legislation of the mid 20th century was also done by ALL republicans in government with a few Democrats. opposition to this was entirely and only by Democrats.
