I'm willing to bet that you'll show that the COBs outperform the cheap blurple lights, just like was shown a couple years ago with the top bin CXAs :) Good luck!!
not cheap blurples, they are 2015 CLWs which are putting out 50% more photons than the 2013 models, per my par meter

vs 3000, 3500 and 4000k cxb3590s

im suspecting it possible a mix of the above will be best. use the blurples selectively to bump up the 660 and 450 spectras

The Cree cxb 2700 & 3000ks have quite a lot of red already...
They do, but they take a significant efficiency hit to produce it. If a cob were built around already highly efficient red led's, it would be significantly better than a white producing mostly red....

Higher bin 3000k are becoming available even in high cri. I'm waiting for the 2700k cxb-3590's personally or the new generation that is supposed to be based off uv instead of blue.
