doesn't it all effect society as a whole though? the whole acceptance of violence thing? or are people just crazier nowadays?
i can only speak for the US, but it's not that people are crazier. i think it has a lot to do with all the extra stimuli that's crammed down our throats 24/7. from the second we get up to the second we go to sleep, there's bullshit in our face all day. traffic, machines, bright lights, media everywhere barfing out opinions and products and music, shitty diets, no exercise, work bullshit, ect. we as a country have neglected to put support systems in place to deal with all the new shit we brought on ourselves in such a short time, and it's starting to show.

so here we are. sitting in our own shitty diaper while we get fatter, more antisocial and more emotionally erratic. is anyone really shocked by this? look at us. we're a mess. any "solutions" we craft are nothing more than political chess moves to beat our chests over while we whore for votes and political allies, then the issue is forgotten until election season rolls back around.

we yo-yo between indignant outrage and complete apathy, with our various forms of media pulling the strings. we're drama junkies and outrage is our heroin. it's too bad we spend more time angrily shaking our fists than we do fixing things.

tl;dr: we created this problem like we were reading a how-to guide.

On January 29, 1979, Spencer put herself by a window in her home and began randomly shooting at Grover Cleveland Elementary School across the street. She opened fire as children were waiting outside for principal Burton Wragg to open the gate.[SUP][3][/SUP] The shooting claimed the lives of Wragg and Mike Suchar, and injured eight students and a police officer. Wragg was killed while trying to help the children, and Suchar was killed while trying to pull Wragg to safety.[SUP][3][/SUP]
After firing thirty rounds, Spencer barricaded herself inside her home for almost seven hours, warning police that she was going to "come out shooting."[SUP][3][/SUP] Ultimately, she surrendered to police.[SUP][3][/SUP] Although police officers found beer and whiskey bottles cluttered around the house, they stated that Spencer did not appear to be intoxicated.[SUP][3][/SUP]
When asked why she committed the gun attack, Spencer replied, "I don't like Mondays. This livens up the day. I have to go now. I shot a pig [policeman]. I think and I want to shoot more. I'm having too much fun [to surrender]."[SUP][3][/SUP][SUP][5][/SUP] She also said, "I had no reason for it, and it was just a lot of fun," "It was just like shooting ducks in a pond," and, "[The children] looked like a herd of cows standing around; it was really easy pickings." At the time of the shootings, Spencer was 16 years old.[SUP][1][/SUP]
