Why won't Romney release more tax returns

why wouldn't his bipartisan clan in congress not be privvy to this? If there is something that could damage national security they don't have to tell us. I bet there is other things that congress as a whole don't tell us about let alone all of these small committees.

Could be lots of reasons - why didn't Cheney release the member lists of his energy policy meetings - taking that all the way to SCOTUS?

because Cheney is the anti-christ? If you are excusing Obama's actions because Cheney did something similar you probably shouldn't be. Unless of course you were a huge Cheney supporter.

Absolutely, when Obama's lawyers blocked his college transcripts that were subpoenaed, it only proved Obama has information in his records he does not want Americans to know!

Plus, I don't blame Romney for not wanting to release any more of his tax records to the democrat hypocrites.
If Romney did anything illegal, the IRS would have already been on it and it would be all over the MSM.

You present what I call "lawyer logic". My lawyer friends (and enemies) are locked into a law paradigm where cause and effect are presumed, where every missdeed is presumed to have been met with objection or resolution or that misdeed can not have happened at all. "he cannot have broken the law else he would currently be in jail" - the logic is flawed.

"I hate Bushney for what they did this country"
Obama is doing the same thing damnit, let's call him out on it
"But Bushney did the same thing"

.....

Nope, although I think very little of Cheney, I am not seeking to excuse Obama's actions on the basis of Cheney's. I was going down a different path, one could reason that he had just reason to withold that list, perhaps so too Obama and Holder.

I agree, that's like saying there's no voter fraud else the prisons would be littered with fraudulent voters. It's silly nonsense. I'm glad you realize this.

No, in this case it is nothing like that - but if you wish, we can address that sentiment as well.

My question was always "If you don't like what Obama does that is so akin to what Bush did, then why didn't you take issue with Bush's actions when he acted?"

my like button is gone so I'm just quoting to tell you this is an excellent answer. We can't discount this possibility. Admittedly I'm biased because the entire F&F operation was utter retardation to me. Thanks for pointing out the obvious, sometimes we need that.

voter fraud is not a mandatory prison sentence...so no its not like saying that.

For me personally I get to take the high road because I was screaming from the rooftops over no child left behind, UEIGA, Port Authority Act, Patriot ect but I know exactly what you mean. Many on the right were mere cheerleaders and were wrong for doing so.

I have never used this argument to show that voter fraud exists. I have simply asked for evidence of voter fraud, there isn't very much. And certainly there is less than the number of disenfrancised voters that will result in mandated voter ID.

I believe you.

And congradulations for being against such things as signing statements and the concept of unitary executive. I argued against Bush's actions with many conservatives who were at the time all for a quadrenial monarchy. give the president what ever he wishes they said, don't you trust your president? they asked.

Now that Obama inherited all those shiny new executive power tools, those same folk are very very upset.

two weeks ago I would have answered this differently but then I renewed my driver's license. This state used to be a mouse click and a check. This time I had to show birth certificate, soc sec card and a utility bill address to my home with my name on it just to renew a DL.

I definitely can see someone saying voting is not worth all of that. To me it was and I don't understand those people though. Voting in a democratic process is such a precious gift that I conformed to these stringent pain in the ass conditions, but I understand others won't. I also understand those that won't go through the effort would normally vote democrat. So there we have it. I think it's worth it, others don't. I'll let you in on a secret though, out of 6 presidential elections I've voted for R zero times and D three times.

An enlightened person (not the voting D part) but the part about voter ID. I see post after post along the lines of "I was asked to see my ID when I got money out of my bank.... and it wasn't so hard... so why not voting?" Seems that lots of people don't understand the difference between a private transaction and a right.

I don't think gun oowners should have to present ID in order to keep or carry btw.

I don't know why people are ok with ill send out my taxes but its going to take a few months? You are a rich business owner don't act like you do your own taxes, we knows dam well your lawyer and accountant have been doing them for years and each year is nicely filed away and organized. All you have to do is open the file cabinet and pull out your filed reports. This some how takes a long time:rolleyes:

to RENEW your drivers license you had to show you birth certificate ???? I thought you do that when you first get it..

yeah me too

I don't have my bc in this state and use a P.O. box so and am paperless on my bills (hug a tree for me, or here I guess it would be a bush) so I didn't have a utility bill sent to my HOME address, sent to a PO box doesn't count. I had serious hoops to jump through until I asked "can I get the BC sent to my physical address and it count for both"? I got a yes so that's how I worked it.

Before this incident I poo pooed the idea that anyone would be disenfranchised but hell, I was pretty damn close lol.
