Wick buckets?

Does anybody have any experience with wick buckets? And if so, what do you use for the wick?

I've tried a few different things but have not been satisfied with the results.

I have a wick system I bought, HydroFarm Emily's Garden. Check online hydro stores for refills of the wicks that come with that or any other wick system. Refills for mine are $5.00 for 6 at my local hydro shop and they tend to overprice everything.

They are ment to be very simple but really effective method. nylon cord is threaded through the drainage holes' across, and down out of the opposite hole. This is repeated so that you have two lengths of cord threaded through, leaving four ends hanging down.
Next trim the lengths so that they are about 15cm long, add a layer of vermiculite to a depth of 3cm and fill the remaining space with perlite or coconut fibre. Then suspend the pot over the nutrient reservoir and water it from the top to saturate the medium. As the plant feeds it will draw nutes up the wick by capillary action. Its nuts how somethings work, all this is more or less my next grow so i'd love to know how you get on with this. later brother
