Wick systems .. anyone use them ? pro's /cons's?

I've been using one for a couple of grows and was wondering if anyone else used them .. or have any views about them?

I used one when I went on a two week vacation. Had to insert the wicks thrugh an existing root system on plants that were 5 weeks into flower (yeah, dumbass stoner timing, what can I say). It worked well enough, with 75% of the grow surviving. I wouldn't use it on a grow that I'm home for, but that's just me.

Thanks for the response smokinrav. I've found it works ok for me because i dont have a lot of plants, keeps a small footprint in my tent and i dont have the worries of heating or cooling a rez. The plants seem to like it , and since i have to use distilled water i dont need to have a lot on hand
