Will 14/10 increase yield ?

I would not try it. 12/12 is when the plant knows it is ready to bud. 14/10 may induce stress/hermies/less yield. Just MO :D

For veg or for flower? Cannabis needs at least 11 hrs of total darkness for photosynthesis to begin. For veg i wouldnt recommend anything less than 18/6. Peace and one love.

You have it backwards, lol. Last two weeks you can switch to 10/14 (light/dark). This tells the plants that the days are getting shorter and it's time to finish up flowering. This doesn't increase yield but helps the last bud growth in the flowering period to ripen faster so you don't have mature buds with less mature, speedy tips.

I've done it and have not seen any great changes in results one way or another but it did'nt cause any hermies or anything either. I still use it on occasion for veg growt as to me it seems that your plant actually puts on its growth during lights out time so my lat week or so of veg i always go 14/10 and then to 24 hours dark before 12/12.. but its up to you has'nt hurt me any..Peace

ok thanks, seems like it doesnt really do too much i guess will it work for veg (the real thing is i have a young auto and a 6 week into flowering whie diesel and i want more than 12/12 for the auto then when the WD is done i can go 18/6

i have had a similar question. from what i have read flowers grow when it is "dark", and vegitative growth occures during "lights on". can anyone else help us?

According to the Gerorge Cervatous book which lead me onto experimenting with this one. No the 14/10 wont do anything to yield but if you d0 12/12 for 3 weeks then 13/11 (lights on/off) after 3 weeks then 14/10 for the last 3 week it does increase yields by 14-17% from my experiments. I run a SOG so experimenting is controlled. I had a posted a link to this exact research and a free ebook copy for his book u can look it if ya want :)

I have heard and read that this increases resin production. Since the plant will increase resin production right before lights on. This is why some say to harvest right before lights on, in that this is when resin production is peak. As well as less starches are being brought up from the roots.
I can't speak from experience but this is just what I have read and heard.

Speaking from experience and what I have read. I grow my plants past the typical harvest window of 8 weeks because I LOVE the couch lock stone and it KILLS migraines. In the last 6 years of my experimenting with my particular favorite plant genetics (its a purple cross with something) I have noticed that extending the length of darkness does only 1 thing...

it does absolutely nothing but extend the length of time it takes the plant to finish.

I flower for 12-16 weeks sometimes (to get SUPER couch lock weed) and on some sets of plants I have gone 14-10 and there was no speed up in ambering of pistils, or trics. The quality was not effected at all and neither was the yield. It only made the finishing of the plants longer.

This has been in my experience and with my specific plant though. I have noticed that many cannabis plants are different and react differently to certain situations so you need to feel free to experiment on your own, that is one of the most fun parts of growing! Experiment with LST, FIMM, Hydro and soil. Find what you like to grow with and do that. Learn what your plant likes and responds to by growing it and trying out new grow methods

Peace~
