Will a 400W HPS/MH be sufficient for 5-6 plants?

Hello!
I am going to be purchasing a HID setup in the future, and I am wondering if a 400W system will be enough for 5-6 girls in a room that 6 feet deep, 4 1/2 feet wide, and almost 7 feet tall.

Also, how efficient is a Metal Halide with vegging? I have heard mixed responses before, and I want to bear what you guys think.

if flowered at 10-12 inch.

i'd say so as well.. 400's cover about a 3 x 3 area i'm pretty sure the best.. a six hundred would take it up to a 4 x 4 area.. and i forget what a 1k can cover, maybe i want to say 6 x 6? but i'm not 100% sure on the last one though..

if you're vegging the 400 watt mh will be fine in that area and you can veg more than 5 or 6 plants, but if you're flowering get a 600 or 1000 watt hps and only flower IMO about (5) 18" plants or ( 10" to 12" plants

I use a metal halide warm deluxe, which works great for both vegging and flowering, though my next flowering cycle i want 600w hps, so i can split my veg and flower periods into seperate rooms.
