Will a 600w hid grow faster than 130w compact fluorescent lamp?

Much faster given the environment (heat and humidity) are controled and the same between the cfl and hid. How much different? Much faster growth but I cant tell you by percentage . However and if everything else is dialed in, you should get around 600 grams of yield with the 600w hid and around 130w with the cfl given that we shoot towards 1 gpw

I mean that the 130w cfl will change the plant environment much less than the 600w HID which will produce significant amount of heat. If you dont cool the plant grow room by exttacting hot air and adding cool air, the plant will suffer heat shock ajd wont grow. And despite the fact that a600w HID is supposed to give ya good grow, the heat will make your plant stop growinh or even die.
Basically I was tryinh to help ya broaden your aproach to assessing whether HID or cfl is better.

Way faster. If you want it tall just dont control the environment, let the heat get up in the high 80s and that biotch will get so lankey......it will but i wouldnt do that on purpose. It was a joke, just to be clear. But ya! Kick it up a notch and pound her with some light.

Its hard to tell exactly what your temps will be. For example, my grow tent is 4x4 and it is in a larger room. The ac in the larger room is set to around 68F and my 600wHID will warm the grow tent to about 75F when the lights are on. That temperature is while the hid is on and while theres an extraction fan that cools my HID light thats in a glass cooling tube. The fan is 8" and is set to 1/4 speed. If i turn the fan off and no hot air is being extracted, the grow tent will just keep getting hotter and hotter. The HID and CFL too will add heat. How much? Based on wattage mainly then on efficiency of the light (of the electricity consumed, how much goes towards producing light and how much is wasted on radiated heat)

The cool tube helps with heat. It allows your light to get closer w/o burning the plants. It's going to take some time, no matter what light you use. There's no light that's going to knock weeks off a grow, bad light might add weeks though.
