Will a sealed 3 x 3 x 6.5 tent smell with only 4 - 5 plants also in its own seal room

Hi

Im new to growing. I bought a 3 x 3 x 6.5 grow tent. Its a sealed tent and I put the tent in a closet that has its own closed door I also put a towel at the bottom of the door to help keep the smell in the closet.

Im only going to put 4-5 plants in the tent. Im using 2 units of 120 watt LED grow lights.

My question to you guys is how bad is it going to smell upstairs of my house. I live in a big house that is about 3500 square feet but I live in the basement and my landlord lives up stairs.

He knows I smoke weed my question to you guys is how bad will the smell get I dont mind it smelling a bit but not crazy. its only 4 -5 plants and I tryed to seal off the area as much as I can.

Like I said he knows I smoke it so a little bit of smell is ok will it get so bad that he will know that I put some thing in my closet or will it just smell like I just blazed a fatty down stairs

i think if its in a grow tent in a closet the smell is not going to get out very easily. depending on how much you check on the plants and have the door open that will be the factor of how much odor is going to get out. i have 4 plants in a closet right now just under 4 weeks, and let me tell ya it is making my whole room smell, and thats just coming through the cracks on the sides and top of the door.

I need help guys please answer these questions for me thanks for your input

yea I dont mind it smellin up that room.. I will only go in the room 2 times a day to water the plants. I just dont want it to reak up stairs like a bit is ok but not so crazy that they will know what im up too you know what I mean I will put air freshiner all around my downstairs as well

i dont think it will be very noticable upstairs then

i grew in a tent, in a basement
the smell was easily detected, at times, on the first floor, only by the basement door tho.
a lot of it depends on how big your plants get and how much water you need to use
if you keep the plants relatively small, and your not using HPS and therefore not using a lot of water
it should be OK

It probly wont be bad especially for the first couple weeks but towards the end the smell will get out but could be hidden, hardest time is when you harvest it will get retty bad

Ya the door to go up stairs is on the other side of the house I have 2 more doors that will be closed at all times and plus I will be putting towels at the bottom of each door to try and keep to smell undercontrol.
Like I said I dont mind if it stinks a bit but not just so crazy that he knows what im up to some times I have a half pound in that same room and it only smells in that room witch is fine. I just cant let the smell get up stairs. thats what I thought I will be fine untill harvest time. its only 4-5 plants I dont see how it can smell that bad the house is a 3 story house and the basement is half way inground there are weather strips on each of the doors that split his house from mine

any others please drop me your comments on this

well it sounds like ur fine
on another note, just curious, ur not watering 2x per day ar ya?

you can mask the smell, but your plants need fresh air to thrive and be healthy so unless your using co2 i would try to figure something else out

Look into a product called ONA GEL. I use it with great results for a much larger area than you're dealing with. $20 -$25 for 1 litre.

How long does 1 liter last? I had this stuff a long time ago but never used it. If I was you I would spend the $250+ to get a proper 4" centrifugal fan and Mountain Air Carbon Filter. They are small and I have had amazing results with mine. zero smell, zero worries. I't just a piece of mind is all.

Dude, that stuff is going to STINK, I am 2 weeks into flowering and yes it does stink, I am growing 3 plants in a fridge

Get yourself a carbon filter for the exhaust and that will get rid of the smell

I am using 2 4inch inline duct fans @ 80cfm

Alot of it depends on the strain you are growing. I just harvested 5 plants that were very smelly. You could smell them 6 feet from my shop door. They were in cabs in the shop. This was with a 2 month old carbon filter. I would not try it. I was nervous and I have a state medical card...lol

Agree with you Mustang,some strains have very little smell and others wil be very strong. An alternative is to try to find a strain with low oder.

yes of course Im not going to pick a strain like skunk or some thing like that.. I was thinking of buying white snow from nirvana seeds

If your that worried about it just get a small carbon filter. That way there will be no questions. Fresh smells a lot different than dried also so take that into consideration. All in all why take the risk.
