Will algae hurt my plants?

Hi all.
I never thought of this before but I was reading that algae is not good for my plants. I had some problems in my clone box. I didn't clean it for a while and started getting what looked like some dark brownish algae in there.
Also I am starting to get some build up of something that looks like algae on the inside of my big plastic jugs that use for watering. Is this a problem? Please let me know. Thanks!!

A bit of algae (especially on top of the medium) won't hurt the plants. Biggest problem is when it gunks up the works and clogges feed tubes or air stones. If there is enough growing it could use up some nutrients. In any case, the important thing is how are the plants doing?

The plants are doing ok. I had some problems in the clone box. They were not rooting and eventually just kind of rotting and dieing. I am using soil so I really do not have to worry about anything getting clogged.

Next time mix in a lil hydrogen peroxide in your water, and rinse jugs out with it periodically. Helps to keep them clean, and algae is a bad thing regardless of where, it plays hell with the ph levels

dont ever settle for "just a little bit is ok". algae is never a good thing, even in soil grows.
