Will ammonia in water kill my veg tea?

Hey guys Im planning on using tap water in my veg tea, and I found out that my water has chloramine (chlorine +ammonia). Now I can use cheap vitamin C powder to break apart the chemicals, but the ammonia will remain in the water. I really dont want to buy expensive bottles that remove both for fish (like $20 per bottle), what should I do in this situation, I have a lot of water to de-chloramine.

One bottle will treat quite a bit of water. I use it in my koi ponds. You can also use RO, although there is an initial investment of a couple hundred dollars, How much tea are you making?

Im making enough for 6 large plants, and also have to use tap for watering them afterwards

also heard of people using a filter for this purpose

Yes, you can use a carbon filter like for an aquarium, but I'm not sure how efficient it is.

AFAIK humic acid also neutralizes chloramine.
Add just a few drops into the water you're fixing to use, until it starts changing color.
And if you have a worm bin, that can be your free humic acid source.

Next time it rains in your area put out a bucket. Rain makes the best tea and you don't have to do anything to remove anything in it. Your plants will love getting watered with rain too. If you run a dehumidifier in your home that is another source of clean water; just keep the collection dump rinsed out well to avoid bacteria. You can get an RO unit to remove the chloramine but these systems are wasteful and expensive IMO
