will drilling into a knot split my wood?

Hey i'm setting up a lightmover and one of the screw holes is placed over a huge knot that makes a cracking sound whenever I try to drill the screw in.

Should I just go for it and force it, or will that break the wood? or should i just leave the one screw out, I mean there's 11 others holding the darn thing up i don't think 1 would matter.

Yeah I'm just gonna go drill it and hope it doesn't do anything, I don't think it will I just gettin antsy on setting this up and i tend to fret over things that don't seem that big of a deal when I look back on the question. anyways I hope I can start to post my grow withing the next week man, thanks for the help

Drill a pilot hole just a little smaller diameter than the screw you are using. It wont split, I promise.
