Sounds good. If you are blowing air in, where does it exit? How many watts are you cooling?
This is what I would do. He mentioned in his other thread about making the DIY cool tube. The only thing I would caution from experience is often by the time you are done you have spent what you could have bought it used for...try craigslist. If you get the pyrex tube cheap and you are handy do this. I saw the metal clips (forgot there actual use) at wal-mart. The only thing is the pyrex tube is 4" and is a little small IMO for a 400w.

I am pretty sure the booster is not what your need. I have seen people use duct work near bulb with no hood, but this would not work as well as the hood. It is going to take money period.
..then ima upgrade to a vortex fan,cooltube,dwc system,etc for my future grows....all i need is a temp fix for my cooling needs...just one 400 hps in a small closet with a couple plants in there,nothing too fancy,which is why i dont wanna spend a couple hundred just yet..
Will it work...well it will work, but your temps are going to be 20 degrees higher than ambient, in your entire room. If you do not remove the heat from the system you will just be cooling with ever increasingly warmer air. You may as well just use a box fan if you can not remove the heat to another room.
