will lady bugs eat my buds

Ok, I've got 4500 ladybugs coming tomorrow, to control my spidermites for the last two weeks of flowering. I don't have a real bad infestation, but don't want to use any(organic) spray's for my last weeks. My question is, seeing that I have a low population of spidermites, will they get hungry, and eat my buds???

Maybe this was a question to ask before you ordered 450 ladybugs. :)

No, they will not eat your plants.

i've got a 8x8 flower room, 8x8 mother/clone room, plus a 12x12 that's empty. I figured i could let them loose in the 12x12, put some in each of the other rooms, and try to figure out how to feed 4000 ladybugs with no little bugs, I've heard they like cantaloupe, and a bunch of other fruits(which is when i started getting worried about them eating my fruits).

Lady bugs are a godsend for spider mites not only do they eat the mites but they eat the eggs faster than the mites can produce them im not sure on the math but i think they eat a 5:1 ratio per lady bug.... meaning 5 eggs or more to 1 lady bug a day like i said not sure on the math but i can tell you you dont need 4500 lol maybe a 50 to 250 per room. But no they will certainly not eat your buds. Also they will eat any other pests you have..

ya I know i don't need 4500, I was ordering some red wiggler's(while consuming mass quantity's of beer), and wanted some ladybugs to. I think 4500 was the lowest they had. I have a big ass garden, and a mini orchard. Will they kinda stick around if i let about 4300 of them go???

your buds are going to taste like lady bug feces. You could make bubble bug after harvest though. That might be pretty pimp. They will eat them, but it takes a couple weeks. I would give your plants and buds a rinse with power wash now and then wait a week to release the lady bugs.

Kudos for the biological control. I had spider mites last cycle, had to limp the plants in to harvest. But once they were harvested I waged full on chemical warefare on them. They didn't have a fucking chance and know I am sleeping soundly.

no, i had hundreds of ladybugs in my grow, no shit taste. your going to find them hiding in the buds tho while trimming, usually just crawl out. no bugs in my grow so they were deff a nice addition.
