Will the current legal marijuana market be dramatically different in 5 years?

Wow everyone is really paranoid about marijuanas future and the government lol. You got to think about this way business people do. The legal market is saturated with quality stuff the fact that people think quality would degrade with more competition is a contradiction of how business works in 2015. Probably 4 or 5 big companies will pop up and there will be fierce competition to corner the market. Now that premium 2015 LED lights are putting out amazing light at 400 watts and produce no heat, it'd be solar powered and constructed in the right region of the country would require much, much less power than if this were 1990. Let's say companies now inventing good new strains now and days spend maybe $30,000 developing a new strand. 2 or 3 big companies may spend $50,000,000 on each strand they put out. 10 strands for $500 million and a $1 billion dollar factory/lab/indoor grow would be paid off after the first year even if they sold 10 gram packs to retail stores for $5 a pop. Then yearly you'd just have to pay employees and nutrients, supplies and water since electricity would be solar also LED lights last a long time. If it weren't so freaking lucrative to do this maybe they wouldn't spare no expense, but it's a God damn gold mine if they can corner the market.

My daughter got her B.S. at a po-dunk school. She is doing post graduate studies at a fairly prestigious university. Now she has to tutor a couple of these Ivy League students in math and chemistry.

This. Is. Amusing. From what I understand, everyone hates the government because pot is illegal, but if it becomes legal, I haven't seen a single post here saying yahoo! It's strange. Better yet, I haven't seen a single post here excited about what I think might happen. Pot that is nearly 20 times cheaper, unheard of genetics and not against the law. Not saying you couldn't grow your own, but I wouldn't see the point. The highest THC confiscated I read was 38% THC. Imagine that being everything you bought. Yes but you can buy the same product at that local hardware store that you can buy at at big box store. And that product you bought? Most likely from a big corporation. Buy your ganja from local stores then. Either way, as I'm tired of pointing this out over and over, your local store can try to make something great all they want and I'm sure they could, but I choose to buy the best product, and someone who is spending hundreds of millions on research and development and Walter white style growing, I buy the best product.

Dude I have no idea what you're talking about the government thing. I said the government wouldn't sell it when someone said they would. And in no way shape or form would I ever support the government involved in selling marijuana or being involved at all. And yes it's "legal" but you must not have read I pointed out there are no tax breaks and big money isn't involved because it's still illegal on a federal level. Man I always surf the web and I've seen great buds and fantastic I think it's cool. Don't you think I'd rather small companies be in charge and sell eveything? Of course I would, but it's ignorant to think someone can grow something better than an entity spending hundreds of millions of dollars in research, perfected nutrients and growing techniques not yet discovered. Yes I understand it's good now, but it will get even better. When it boils down to it, I want the best. Yes they can. And yes they are. So you didn't see the grower who posted those super high thc % couple days ago? He paid 60 bucks for those beans and then bred them on his own. Haven't you seen any of the lab results this site floats around? I wouldn't buy a fucking thing from those million airs you speak of. Ill grow my own or ill go down the street to a buddy who has some perfect sour diesel from this years outdoor. And he aint charging a thing. Ask any one on this site, do you want to grow and smoke your own or do you want to buy your smoke from big corporations? Guess what they'll say?

lol...biased view I see. I'm unbiased I could give a crap who grows it. When they breed genetics do they know the DNA code or aspects on a molecular level? No. Lab results just post the chemicals present in the pot. They basically grow plants and pick the best ones to breed. You're making out what they're doing sound harder than it is. This it's still something that could be accomplished with out advanced technology. There is far far more to plant than shooting for the highest THC. I'm pretty much done posting I think I've posted most of my theory. If you think a grower can grow better than scientists and experts at a company like Pfizer then you're in a shock for what's going to happen in 10 years when no one grows pot at home any more. Some times passion blinds people's foresight.

One last thing which should expose what I mean. Let's say you have 2 different hybrids both 50% sativa/indica but much different genetics but both the same THC and CBD yet one tastes like grape and makes you feel all upbeat and another tastes like pineapple and makes you trip out. No one knows why. That exposes the true compete lack of scientific understanding of pot. Also there are tons of chemicals in marijuana which they don't even know what they do!

So you can tell me all you want that your plants are "dank" and "the best ever - screw your scientists I could school them" and "I'll never buy corporate marijuana" all you want, I still find it very amusing. Granted, many are growing very potent marijuana and high in THC but there is more to Marijuana than CBD and THC, and I just hope people agree with me after reading the above comment that we are still in the stone age of marijuana. Also, everything can be improved. I know nutrients and growing techniques are pretty advanced though, but just wait until it changes from trial and error evolution to scientific evolution.

That's why if you read me saying a company spending $500 million dollars in research for plant genetics sounded funny (they might even go to billions of dollars I don't know) and it frustrated me. I probably should have explained myself more. Also, growing now is pretty generic thing. Maybe the best growers in the business are at 70% effective at growing marijuana (yes I know we think we're awesome). Imagine these companies raising that to like 99%. I mean there are generic guides to growing, but maybe with billions spent in research they'll get even more effective and develop crazy scary nutrients and super, super specific growing techniques - a generic 12 hours on 12 hours off for flowering works, but it is generic.

111 active cannabinoids in Marijuana found so far (possibly many more). 1 active ingredient in beer, whine and spirits (alcohol). That is why there will be no craft breweries of the marijuana world since they are more like food recipes and taste is the most important research since the only active ingredient is alcohol. There will be only big corporations as Marijuana is more like a pharmaceutical drug considering over 500 chemicals and 111 active cannabinoids; also it'll be so freaking cheap and you won't be able to come close to what big companies will be able so why grow "sour disel" in your basement if you can buy something that after millions of dollars in research makes you feel so relaxed and happy you may crap your pants and will probably cost 80 cents a gram or less. (Keep in mind Marlboros in some states costs like 20 cents a gram and marijuana can yield 3 times as much at harvest AND can be harvested 5 times a year versus once a year for tobacco making marijuana a freaking super gold mine compared to the gold mine of tobacco)

Now, is anyone excited or agreeing with me? I mean isn't the most important part of the marijuana world the quality? That's what I'm all about. If you don't agree, oh well. And if you make a valid point I'd be interested. Anyhow, have fun guys!
