Will this 4 bulb T5 HO fluorescent fixture provide enough light in grow tent?

That is 18 inches and as hard as a rock.

I'll bet @RM3 and his custom ~1000w T5 tanning bed would outperform any HPS guy here. And his weed would probably knock you into another dimension. He's an anomaly, of course. I don't know anyone else I'd pit against 1000w of HPS.

well i know from very recent experience about t5 lights and hps
i was running 8 t5 bulbs in a 2x4 tent heat was a big problem
low yield was a problem i just knew i was leaving grams and grams on the table
i purchased a 600 watt digital dimmable ballast
in 2 weeks time my growth has taken off and my bud size has started increasing and internode
length isnt stretching as bad
time will tell but im already glad to be back to hps and im only running my ballast at 75%

so for me going back to hps seems like a win win and now i have some t5s to find a new home for
its just my 2 cents worth and i believe in doing what works for you.
my super lemon haze started filling in and getting fat
my northern lights have actually started growing again and looking very healthy they love the light
the ones that where already half way through flower even had an added boost from the light.

i tried to use t5s but i only got 7 inches of penetration that would do any good for flower
i will know more about the hps when the new stuff really gets into flowering
but i expect deeper penetration with the hps.
