Will this clipping be able to root? Can I monster crop it?

My friend was remvoing his bottom-most branches yesterday and plopped one of em in a cup of water.

he said he removed it yesterday and but it directly in the water, and put the smallest drop of fox farm grow big in the cup as well.

it is a clipping from the flowering stage but theres barely any bud on it and im interested in monster cropping.

Mainly i just wanna know if this clipping can root as is or do i need to cut it at a specific node and apply some rooting hormone and stick it in a jiffy puck. PLZ HELP

It should be okay like that. I would suggest, however, to put a clear plastic bag over it to help keep in moisture, also, you might want to pop it into a dark cup instead of a clear one so the water doesn't get "ooookkkkyyyyy".

looks fine you can wait for it to root as is or jiffy IMO leave it

ya i got plenty of time, im just making sure that the risk of having a marijuana clipping in my home is being taken with the possibility that it will actually root into a healthy vegetative plant.

ya you cant really tell but i put serrane wrap around most of the top of the cup, but couldn't do it completely as the clipping is taller than the cup but it mostly covered. should i just gently mash it down so its under the wrapping??

I never use humidity domes or wraps. They just aren't needed. If you want to, you can mist the plant once in a while, but even that isn't needed.

so is it more of a game of chance??

Works for me pretty close to 100%. you don't need all the "gimmicks" that people use to clone, this plant clones very easily just the way you are doing it. Did you cut the bottom of the stem under the water? If you cut above water it can dry out a bit and not absorb water as well. it can also get an airbubble on the bottom of the stem preventing it from getting all the water it needs if cut above water. I add a very small amount of MG to my water so it has a litte bit of food also.

it wasnt cut, it was pulled off. in the second pick you can see where the fibers of the main stalk peeled off. my water has some fox farm grow big for food

I use a ziplock bag for humidity because I live in one of the dryest places on Earth. Seriously. :0)

I read that flowering clones will take longer to root that taking one from veg... I would cut the bottom at an angle to make sure there isnt an air bubble. he pulled it? Yikes....

Pulled in a downward motion, not yanked

Plants dont need any nutrients or exactly pH'd water until they actually grow roots...both because you need actual roots to use nutrients and the pH is only adjusted to make nutrients available to roots. So dont waste nutrients on cuttings!

Personally I'd re-cut the bottom of that very slightly and expose a 45 degree angle then rough up the backside of that cut (the longer part of the 45 angle) a little bit for best results and then DIRECTLY back into water then let it kick it for a week and see what pops. =)

Plus quit snaggin' branches off you buddies plants, he'd probably just give you a clone if you asked lol...j/k. XD
