Will this light be adequate for 2 plants?

Today I bought a 150 watt par38 flood light. Also i bought a yellow and a green light globe (80 watt). Will this be enough for 2-3 plants? What colour globes promote growth and what ones promote flowering? I'm new to this and this is my first grow.
Thanks, and ALL advice is needed/wanted/appreciated. :D

um....i just looked up a par38 flood light....i do not think those lights produce anything viable for plant growth , at 150watts that bulb only throwin out 2.6k lumens.....1 42 watt cfl throws off about 2700 lumens. Even if the flood light does produce light that is good for plants (which im 95% sure it doesnt) a 150watt hps gives 15,000 lumens.....

im sure you can see where im going with this.

For vegetive growth you want the whiter/blueish light spectrum , (6500kelvin rating) and for flowering you want to look for the orange/red spectrum (3000 , 2300kelvin rating)

if using cfls i would personally aim for about 200 - 300 watts of cfls for 2 plants flowering (4 to 8 x 42 watters ) I.e 4x 42 watt cfls = roughly 10k lumens , but in all reality your better off going with a 150 watt high pressure sodium @ 15k lumens or a 250w at 30-35k lumens its all about lumens to watt ratio my friend. It also depends on your space requirements...

i feel like you have jumped into a hobby without doing much research and should probably just give these forums a good month or so of reading b4 purchasing anymore wasted products , Hell i been here since 2009 and JUST started being even remotely happy with my grows....well i had to quit for a good 6 months there due to personal drama but still i consider myself a noob still , and still learn something new on here literally everytime i come on. its good reads.

Good luck on your growing dude , remember have patience...

Ok would Bunnings (hardware store) stock CFL's? or a high pressure sodium light? if not should i just purchase about 2-3 more flood lights?
Thanks for the tips :)

No More Floods!! Return the last one! CFL bulbs are the "twisty" bulbs. You need to do your research. You should buy a switchable mh/hps ballast and light fixture. You need to understand mediums. This isn't just a hobby, it's a full on class that gives you a pop quiz whenever you tweak something slightly wrong and everyday your plants get bigger, you get smarter. Hit the books bro, you'll waste less time in the long run
