Been on here a while looking at indoor setups. I live in the great state of Cali and usually grow outside and am thinking about indoor and am kind of dumb about lighting and air circulation when it comes to indoor. Just curious to get input from people how have ran 1000w in smaller than normal spaces.
I'm thinking about putting a 1000w with a 8" air cooled hood & an 8" fan at 700cfm into a 3x3x7 and wondering if i would run into heat issues with that much air circulating.
I have a digital ballast and could run it at 60% normal operating power. If I did this would it still have heat issues?

Side question... What are trackback's and tags when posting... Yes im a posting newbie

With a digital you could easily get by with 6" ducting, flanges, and fan. It's not going to get that hot unless your hood does not have glass in it. 3 x 3 x 7 is really small; maybe enough for one plant. IMO, I would not put over a 600w in that size area. Welcome to Rollitup!

With digital ballast running at 60% would a 1000 watt become the equivalent of a 600 when it comes to heat?

I have a 3' x 3' area and a 600W HPS and I'm now looking at a 1000W HPS. Just doesn't seem like enough light, and I like the concept of the 1000 penetrating deeper into the foliage. Is the hood is kept cool, I wouldn't think 1000W would be a problem, but that's only an opinion. I've never done it...yet
