okay im going to make a completeley new grow room..in my closet..
the dimensions are 36inches wide and 59inches tall..

this is the plan../|\

i want to put 2..2 foot fluro lights on each side 40 watt bulbs..

and on top i want to put another 2 foot fluro light also a 40 watt bulb..

is this enough light i plan on putting about 6-8 plants in here and also there

will be a fan in the grow closet to keep air circulated..

i plan on puttin 1 cool white light and 1 warm white light on each side i

hered putting the 2 together makes the best kind of light..

will this work and is it a good setup..comments?

Why bother?
I agree....
WTF is wrong with people on here.....
People wanna grow with 40 watt fluorescent lights.
People wanna grow in a kitchen cupboard or even a plastic garbage can.

A successful grow takes:

1.) Research
2.) Money
3.) More Money
4.) Lot's more money
5.) Experience

If people are interested in growing indoors, they should read a book on gardening indoors.
A book like the one below will give the beginner a fairly good idea on what it takes.

A hps 400w is not that expensive....Buy a growtent.Spend a couple of euros/dollars and u can get good results. Fluoros is a joke if u are not born with green fingers

floros are ok if you are just doing clones or want some extra light at the sides of plants, but a full grow with a couple 40w floros would leave the end result kind of dissapointing. cfls are much much better than floros and most of the time cheaper. A 150w hps would be about as cheap as what your planning on doing and would be by far better.

Growing marijuana outdoors is about as simple as growing tomatoes outdoors, any monkey can do it.
But when you want to grow indoors it takes a bit more experience, because basically your trying to make your environment similar if not better indoors.
40 watt Fluorescent lighting is similar to a very dark cloudy day.

If someone is not resourceful enough to come up with a few hundred bucks to make a good environment for there ganja, then they should stick to picking up there green from a bro....Florecent lighting has very little light intesity, even the high powered t5's have a hight restriction of about 2 feet max. T12 shop lights are good for plants that are about 6" tall. That means they will work for your clones that are just taking root....After that they are just wasting your money even if it is only a dollar a day in electrical cost. I learned the hard way with trying to get the most lumens out of my watts, but where did I end up? Back to the 1k HPS.....Nothing gets the job done and creates the best "risk to reward" ratio then the old fashon way, "of course I have electronic ballasts"! If you are growing under floro's just to watch a plant barely get by, then by all means....Keep up the good work, but if you want to give the little lady what she realy wants, you need to warm her up a bit with a real light. GL keep asking questions, alot of experienced growers do exist on this site and will steer you the right way....DCG

I agree get a hps light. a 400w air colled witha carbon scrubber would be perfect and would kill the smell.

The additional yield you get with the 400w hps will far outweigh any costs you lay out after the 1st harvest.

agreed........I am sure that odor would not be a concern with the t12's due to the lack of nugs, so that is always another option..

What about a 250w hps. I got one for about 100 and it works fine. I dont have many plants I only have 3 and they are in a small closet simular to the one you are describing.

Sure man, HPS is the key though. You will just have a higher yield with a 400hps if you can keep the heat in check..
