bongsmilie ok i am growing 1 single plant, trainwreck i believe, that i got from one of my quap bags and all i have is 3 light fixtures (flourescent) each with 2 40w 3ft tubes in it making it 3 80watt fixtures adding up to 240 flourescent wattage haha:lol: its quite nig rigged im going to take some pictures right now and would like all the help i can get

im wondering if this is enough lighting for 1 plant and after i take the picture im wondering when i should begin to flower

i forgot when i planted it but i would say its been 2-3 weeks on 24/7 flouro

lookin for any help my first grow and just wanna smoke something i created looking more for quality not quantity

u got 'er done, i can see the pics now. that's enough for seedling and early vegetation. if u go all the way with the fluoresecents then you'll lack density and weight but i see you're more for quality and not quantity. just keep in mind that a plant will double it's size when u set it into flowering. just a bit rigged isn't it? haha, everyone has to start somewhere. bulbs aren't hot enough to start a fire but if it were me i wouldn't be settin' the bulbs on a fabric... notebook? is that what that is?

u could go for another 2 or 3 weeks then flower. just depends on how big u wanna grow it. it's hard to say how big it's gonna get. u could flower right now if u wanted but it just depends on if u wanna get anymore lights when it gets larger. it's all a learning experience. you'll get so much knowledge from askin' questions on here. more so from the process of growing it yourself. if u really wanna know and u have 30 bucks to spend... buy Jorge Cervantes horticultural indoor/outdoor grow bible. so what you need is 2500 foot candles or 27,000 lumens MAX during vegetative stage. 40w fluorescents put out about 22.3 lumens per watt. you say you have about 240 fluorescent watts then.... you have 5325 lumens. u can grow with that, just be a lil less than par

does anyone have any more suggestions? what about some sort of cheap like 20 dollar light or something to help growth im only a kid so im not trying to go all out

Lets hope you're a kid over 18 otherwise saying your a kid under gets you banned.

Search craigslist for cheap lights, a little searching could net you a $20 250w HPS or MH. Probably not a horticultural style probably old fixtures pulled from business environments but who cares, it'll flower far better than your flouro setup. If you only flower with what you have you will get a limited yield compared to a HID but depending on how much you smoke it may be enough for you.

Either that or you can get some CFL's to add to your setup for flowering. Look for 42w (120w equivalent) or higher in the red spectrum (around 2700-3000k or so) or what is referred to as WARM light. They're less than $10 ea. A HID would be better but whatever, the more light the better.

yeah and i got 7 stinky cheese seeds that i havent started germinating yet im not gonna start until this one flowers because for now i only have the lights this one is growing under
