will too many lumens hurt my plant

not too many lumens, but the heat you must worry about. If you could get 70,000 lumens with no heat you would have a monster plant

i have 6 cfls that each put out 1800 lumen and are each 6500k is this too much or am i okay?

No that is not too much. Remember no light puts off more light then the Sun and plants grow beautifully under the Sun.

Generally the problem with using the bigger HPS lights on young plants is you have to drop the light closer to the plant tops and that often burns the little babies. Luckily you don't have to worry about this with CFLs as they hardly put off any heat at all.

The more light the better.

Good luck :)

Better to use 1 HID then 8,000,000 CFL's.. more lumen's (no not bad) and less heat, and fire hazard with all that wiring.. luck.
