Will using 3500 watts in a rental house get me busted?

n they will send him upstate.
This is y i said no amt of cake is worth it.
He can keep doing perpetual grows. keep shit going in stay under da radar.

He wants fast money n thats cool but this aint the way. I wish him luck tho real luck.

EDIT: and the thing is if the landlord finds it and calls police. Police might even tell him to leave it be until he's at harvest or pretty close to it.
So they can say they investigated n shit, and get him with possession with the intent to distrib. on top of growin

If they case the house and see you bringing in equipment or light leakage, this can lead to probable cause, then they do a "knock and talk" and try to get you to give up your 4th Amendment rights to legally search your place.

I am planning on doing a small closet grow in an apatment. I'm just changing the locks so even if the landlord tried to get in he couldn't. At the end of the lease I will switch the locks back. My lease states that changing the locks is $125 fine (nmo worth the risk).

Dude, go way smaller. Do 1000w grow in one room. Why light up the whole house. Do an amount that you can tear down if you need to.

Well if they came knocking and wanted to come in... I would be naked with a towel over me and tell them that im not ready and come back in an hour haha.
I've hear about a lot of rental grows, most cops say that 80% of the grows are rental.
I dont want to wait untill I have a house because I might be 40+years.
Cops say that because thats the ones they find.

In my opinion its a big risk because there are so many factors outside of your control. Even with a house strange, highly unlikely things happen that could lead to exposure.

Im sure a lot of rental grows are good and come off without a hitch, you know that other 20%. You yourself are worried and I think if you do it you are pushing it with too ambitious of a crop. :eyesmoke:

If he wasn't worried he wouln't even asked the ? imo. I guess pple dont think landlords look thru shit when they inspect.

But his mind is set, so there's no talkin him out of it. He want's quick money.
Only thing to do is wish him luck.. leprechaun type luck.
He's a newb and will find out soon enough.

IMO the best thing to do is get a small grow started.. harvest.. flip it hard then go rent a house where you have some privacy..

as other pple said no bs goin on in ya crib while growin.
U want no need for 5-0 to come and stumble on a damn thing.

My advice to to flip that n get da fuck out apts. n rent a house.

Haha dude ive been talking about growin in a rental HOUSE all this time not an apt.

if you were talking about 350 watts in a closet and your landlord didn't come around much then you will be ok. 3500 watts is hard to hide from people outside much less a landlord or maintenance guy coming through. it won't get to that point if they see your electric meter spinning like a helicopter rotor

Most landlords just do drive by's and will leave you alone if you keep the house and especially the yard immaculate. Lawn always mowed and leaves all raked up and whatever. The more perfect the place looks and the more mature and trustworthy you seem the more likely you'll be left alone. Pay the rent on time every single time, same with electric.

The GF knowing is tough. I had a problem where my GF began to brag when we got to the point that it was the best weed around to everyone who would be interested and she thought was cool, but one cousin she told turned out NOT to be cool with it and forced us to shut down or he was going to turn us in he said.

I should have ignored that warning and just had her claim we did shut down. And I should have kept my wang in her mouth more often so she couldn't talk so much. :)

3500w is a bunch! Expecially for a 1000sf house. I have not moved into it yet but when I do im doing a small grow first then bringing it up to 1800w. I decided 3500w is too much.

Oh yeah def will do yard work too.
Nahh my gf is chill, she wont do shit. Me and her will probably have seperate gardens and do sompetitions on who can yield the most hahah!

Could you not have a hot tub, space heaters, three computers with quad processors, say you run a web site, say you run air conditioning 24/7 whatever? It's not really like a huge 3500w draw when you run 1500 for 12 hours and 2000 the other 12 it's a fairly steady draw consistent with any other type of heavy load.

Also it's usually best when you move into a place to keep your electric bill consitent rather than live there a year and then double or triple your bill all the sudden.

It's up to you though, by all means do what you are comfortable with, I'm just saying...

Oh and a GF that can control herself and keep her mouth shut and share in your interests enough to compete with you. Priceless!

tell you land lord that they are you room mates room and you dont go in there this way he wont push to get in there and make sure you really take care of the smell et the right fans get blinds on the window and board them up and seal the door frame good people always forget to do that good luck man

hmmm.......interesting thread we have here.

A couple quick conclusions I made in 6 pages.

1) 3500 watts is a fuck load of light for someone so inexperienced in this that he is asking questions here. No reason to go gang busters if you dont know what exactly youre doing. The power bill for 3500 watts is gonna be pretty stiff I tell ya. Lose one good crop and its going to hurt. Not to mention that you can probably yeild nearly the same on less wattage.

2) Rental properties are the only way to do this, if you owned your house and got caught, youd lose the fucking house. Especially with a grow like youre planning.

( YES I KNOW HE SAID HOUSE LATER IN THIS THREAD)

3) Apartment grows would be feasible if you can muffle the fans and filters, for the sound constantly droning on and on. The wattage for the ballasts would have to be much less, the panels for electricity in most apartments arent full of extra lines and to be efficient alot of plugs tie into one another.

4) Land lords only come in for inspection if they are A. Paranoid youre fucking up the place B) have notice something is broken and needs fixed immediately like pipes or electrical stuff.

5) finding a slum lord to rent a house from isnt all that hard to do. Sure its a shitty neighborhood and what not but youll be living there taking care of your grow. If done stealth and you dont look flashy, no one wants to see if you have anything to steal anyways.
