Wilting Clones

So I took some clones a 3, put them in a propagation tray+dome, in rockwool. Sprayed the dome, opened once for air. Under a 400mh, kept a good 4 feet away at 18/6. At night the temps drop so a bit so I used a heater... well in the morning(day after cut) it was 86F (30C) so it was too hot. Opened the dome and let them get some air (about 5 minutes), lightly sprayed the dome again and set them back. Up until this morning (after the 6 hours of darkness+little heat issue) they are all wilting and all fell over. Before this they seemed very healthy, strong stem's, perky, standing up. Should I expect them to get back to health or are they dead? Got the temps good and it looks humid in the dome, can't really check that but the climate SHOULD be good ~78F/~25C / RH OUTSIDE of dome is 50, inside should be a lot higher. they're all still limp and wilted... Anything I can do? Will they eevveennntttuuuallllyyyy stand back up? The stem on one became flimsy, but near the top is still maintained it's strong, green stem... from the bottom it became a little purple and very flimsy. The others are flimsy but didn't change colour and are practically lying on the bottom of the tray.

400w mh is too much for clones, get a household T4 florescent and put it in a regular socket and panel it to focus on the plants.

The clones need very little light at this point. Also don't only spray the dome, spray the leaves this is the only way they can uptake water until they root.

Also you want humidity, I would probably not open it more than once or twice a day to spray but AS NEEDED.

Also Take a straw and blow some air from your lungs into it a few times a day. It will help it photosynthesize.

Let me round up a pic of a light example. EDIT: found it.

Something simple like this is great for clones.

Ok, i'll use some of those tube ones, or maybe one or two weak cfl's. Can I re-use those rockwool cubes?

I was told not the spray the cuttings but to spray the dome? I also read later, spray cuttings the first time, dome after that? ...Also I should not be opening the dome very often correct, as this releases humidity?.... Right now under the 400 the humidity dries out too fast, maybe the cfl's are needed!!

After I cut I usually spray all my clones and dome and let them be for 2-3 days then.spray them once a day lightly till the root usually 5 days

to much light for sure, they need very little while trying to root, id go with the lowest cfl you got, just 1. Everything else sounds good. You can spray the cuttings if you feel they need to be sprayed, if they laying over or slight wilt. Spraying them just slows down the rooting process because they can get the water from the leaves rather then the roots, i spray mine once a day because i live in 30% humidity, but they will still root just may take a couple days longer.

Sounds like you got most questions answered besides the rock wool.

If your asking, do I take my plants out of the rock wool cubes and re plant them in soil. Then NO, never remove them the medium mixed with the roots unless your trying to save her from a bad illness.

Just take the plant when ready in the cubes and then plant it all into soil. You want to plant them in soil when you see roots coming out of the cubes.

I had changed the lighting to a single CFL, but at the end they all died. I think the problem was too high Humidity, and the floor was too cold for the bottom of the tray. Rockwool hasn't been working too well with me. I want clones and I need them to root! I'm tight on a budget so every penny counts. Should I invest in a heat mat? Can I start the clones in soil instead of RW-Cubes? Any help appreciated!
