alright so its my first grow ever and me and my buddies are legal patients of california. we got a late start as we bought rooted clones from a local dispenserary on july 1st then stunted a few weeks of growth with what i beleive to this day is underwatering, slight heat stress, and pre flower from taking them outside... finally they have took off and the enclosures we have built are gonna be too small so i need some help/ input on some cheap wind alternatives as i am a college student with a part time job. i know that cannabis plants are bery strong and can withstand strong winds but in my area there are several (3-5) days a weel where there are consistant winds in excess of 15-20 mph and occasional days (roughly 4-10 monthly) where winds are 25-40 mph. i have attached photos so you will see what i have going on.i was thinkin of just staking it more and leaving fence but removing plastic sheeting and the fence could act as support... or should i remove the fence completely if i stake it more? i have to remove the placstic or atlest modify it tomorrow on a couple plants due to fan leaves toucking the plastic sheeting so i will try to get a couple better pics to show you a better idea of space... i have been told that plants start to flower around august 20-23 in my area so i have roughly a month left of veg....i dont know how big these will get??? anyways i was thinking of buying a few hunter green tarps because our plants are a singlfe file and on one side the barn blocks(it runs parallel to the plants and is directly behind the pic of the empty bags) and the other side has previously been dug out so i could possibly do just the ends but i dunno cause the rapid winds? or i even thought of using lattus but have never used so i dont know how much wind protection that offers.... and ways i wont make this any longer than needed like i said im broke , its my first grow , and i dont know about this wind but need some cheap ideas unless mine do sound okay.... thanks:leaf:

Hmmm...I have never had to deal with strong winds... but I would think as long as those fence things are on there the wind can't blow the plants around enough to break them...I mean it can blow them from one side of the fencing to the other...but that doesn't matter.

Shade cloth cover plants, block wind, reduce heat and still let in enough light to get amazing plants as compared to a wall.

yeah i was thinking that too but the only person that has seen them that claims to be a grower says that he would remove the fencing completely but i think it would be better to let the braches extend through the fencing giving it additional support ... as far as the leaves touching or better yet pushing the plastic sheeting is that bad for it??? it is only the fan leaves
??

hi bmo....
i live in coastal cali....i get crazy wind...

first take that plastic off...

you want the wind to make the stems stronger...
get some bamboo sticks and tie to the main stems...
get some agricultural trellis....
i used cages on some of my girls..
with the size plants you have you should be fine without the trellis...
are those 45 gallon smart pots?

they are suppose to be 100 gallons magic grow bags (magicgrowing.com) but i have been told they look small but i am sure that they are close because the amaount used to fill them. yeah i am gonna to have to have it off of a few for sure. i wont have enough cash to get them all enough sticks so as they gradually outgrow the plastic i will remove... thanks again guys for the info, muchly appreciated

also do you or anyone else know where i can get some cheap bamboo cause the only place i know in ny town is like an ace store and they are expensive$$ like 6-8 bucks a peice. can i buy like a longer pole and cut my own. but thats prolly gonna be my cheapest way and best i beleive... and i could put a couple 20x10 tarps on each end. so you think i should leave the cages or no?? i am about to do some pruning of bottom branches and bend a couple plants to allow space as they have grown one sided. but i will get some better detailed pics , like i said i dont know what to expect as far as size and about the cages

Take off the cover and let them be, do you think these plants might have covering in an over windy area, maybe but doubtful. The plant will spend 2 weeks strengthening the roots and the stem so it can deal with it. Just make sure you cover it up when it starts to bud because the wind will knock her right over.

maybe you should read my post better next time. You obviously did not understand the point I was trying to make. Which was that these plants are very good at adapting to their setting to survive. Its very annoying when people just comment only to argue or post stupid shit. This is a helping forum not a try to get as many posts as I can so I can look cool type of forum... If you do not have any helpful information you feel it is necessary to share, dont share at all. I mean they teach you this stuff in pre-school man...
