Winter Weed?

My question is this if i were to plant some seeds outdoors after the freeze in a plot I have prepared how likely is it that they will grow when it thaws? I figured it would work because thats how it seems to go naturally in nature and because the cold would prevent germination. Does anyone else agree?

seriously should i do it? i have 7.6grams of seeds from bags that I've collected over the last 4 months that appear to be viable did the color sort and pinch test and only kept the good sized seeds, do you think i should wait until it snows or until the ground freezes? Im in michigan so it isnt too far off its in the 50s during the day now and low 40s high 30s at night

i dont see any point in it......its more likely something will kill or hurt it over the winter than if you just wait till spring to go out and plant them. plus you dont have your seeds washed away or anything as the snowpack melts.

I wasn't planing on trying to grow it dude, just place them 1/4 under the soil the spot is flat and level they wont get washed away buy melting snow. the point is to get the quickest start possible without starting inside

I also want to see if it works i like to experiment, do you think it would work?

I think it would work. I mean, seed banks store their seeds in refrigerators. And that being the natural course anyway... I'd say go for it. If they grow, weed out the males when the time comes. Maybe keep a few seeds as backup if you don't have more...

im always up for a good pot experiment, ive lost a countless amount of plants experimenting but u can always get more, i would just wait untill spring personally just because you are going to have a much better chance of females without the added stress. If you want to stick a few in the ground and see what happends, the way i see it ur going to get pot at the end of harvest anyways and a few extra days or weeks isnt going to make that much of a difference, Also there could be the possiblity of a freak climate change after the seeds sprout and at that delicate state weather thats cold enough might do it

Ive heard from several very experienced growers that this works well. They said that if it sprouted in the cold it could even take a few good snows and would naturally come up in late February in my area. I planned on sticking a few beans in some pots soon and leavin em outside for the winter to see what happens. cant hurt anything and ive got more bag seeds than i know what to do with. im in the midwest as well but a little ways further south. although our temps seem to be running about the same. its been 52 and drizzling here everyday for a damn week. glad i had a quick finishing strain this year, lastyears were out past halloween.

Im in Michigan any advantage in time is a plus its already in the 30s at night and has been for about a week its only october and its supposed to start snowing soon also it rained for 1 week and a half straight right before the cold snap so finishing in mid September would be a plus.

I didn't pay for the seeds man and i have 10 times more than i will be able to use next season

still haven't done it it warmed up a bit i think im going to wait until first snow then put 10 seeds in each of the four plots i prepared for next year 40 seeds oh well i have 100 or so and will defiantly have more by spring
