isnt there a reason they do it on backs in hospitals?
and did you see the worried expression on jrs face then they were about to snip the cord HAHAha priceless
It is easier for the Dr. He sits on a stool and can see everything. It is not the best position for birthing a child.
+rep for knowing something about childbirth
....
on the back is the worst position (for the mother and baby) to give birth in.... it puts pressures where its not needed and also constricts the birth canal a bit, making it harder for the mother and baby to get their jobs done.....the only reason for the current method of childbirth is, as stated above, to make it easier on the doctors....
childbirth is painful, no doubt about that, but we prolong it and make it alot worse than it has to be.... but i'm a man, so i'll give my wife's pov on it...
our first child was birthed "modernly"..... epidural, episiotomy, prone position, pitosin, etc..... it was fucking horrible on my wife physically, and it carried on for about 9weeks......
second child was all natural.... NO epidural/pain meds, NO episiotomy, and delivered standing up...... 3 pushes, and no tears later, we were washing the baby off.... wife got the blood cleaned off of her, and then WALKED downstairs with me to have her first cigarette in 9months.....
no need for the "modern" way.... unless you're masochistic and hate yourself
