ive always been told they are wood spiders... cant say for sure but they are really common where im from , and i live near woods, so i get a good bit of spiders and those god awful stinkbugs... especially in fall like it is now.... anyways do i kill the thing or let him chill.... i dont mind him if he aint gonna hurt my plants or lay eggs.... ill try to get a picture of him tommorow the lights kicked off on me as i was battling him with a bottle of fungicide3 and it went pitch black so i made a run for it... not sure if fungicide3 kills spiders but thats all i had and he was hiding in a small space space between my 2x4 and cieling...im pretty sure he was stoned and laughing at me.... this is the type of spider it was and are those not fangs? if not ill be relieved lol woodspider.jpg

Lol I live midwest USA and I have many many spiders and stink bugs....drives me bonkers but no those won't hurt you...kill it tho...it might not lay eggs in your garden but they lay egg sacks in corners of your wall and eh about a couple hundred will pop out of it...they look like cotton balls, and it's not like a webbing spider that spindles and covers food with Web

huntsman, wood spider, both are different species of the same family. They do bite, but it won't kill you. Females are somewhat more aggressive probably due to motherly instincts, however you don't want these guys laying eggs in your home, and they are more apt to eat bigger insects like roaches. These are what I find in my basement often:

Giant house spiders. With creepy funnel type webs. They are huge.

Around here they're called 'wolf' spiders, and they can bite but only as a last resort. It's like a mosquito bite. They are fast hunting spiders and will eat lots of prey as long as its big enough. Spidermites generally don't attract their attention, sadly.

They're friends, don't kill them.

The only spiders i let make home in my rooms are daddy long legs. Mainly because spiders and centipedes creep the hell out of me. I dont mind seeing one or two big spiders but an egg nest will make me go NUTS to the point i wouldn't sleep lol. If my rooms get infected, spiders and geckos show up, but they will leave once the rooms have been sterilized and stable

Look man- obviously most of you fools have never lived in the jungle. The rule is simple; if it eats mosquitoes it's on your side. Don't be complainin' about how many legs it's got!

Do what you want. I execute every one of the damn things. Just another bug I don't need around. The only life forms I want in my grow room are the plants and the mycorrhizal culture in the soil.

And I can't ever get rid of these stink bugs here now. Just started a new grow 3 weeks ago and I'll still be finding them 12 weeks from now. Last fall grow I got 20-25 off the plants... over 4 months. Sneaky little creeps, but they don't seem to munch on the plants. They fly to the light after hiding in the garage for months, all winter long.

I mean if you dont have a huge problem with spiders id let him hang around. the only reason hes chillin there is because henhas a food source there. he knows where the bugs are even if you can't see them.

I get spiders sometimes and the way I see it they prevent me from have to buy those damned expensive predatory mites and what not.

BTW - that looks like a wolf spider in post #3. They actually carry their young around on their back so you shouldn't have to worry about it laying eggs all over the place.

if it was outside id leave him but surely dont want hundreds of spiders in my house..... however using his unmatched stealth tactics (and a 12 hr headstart) he seemed to have evaded the rath of my fury... he is no longer in the same spot... not sure if he went on a munchie run or just moved down into my jungle of love...i have some feeding to do soon so i will contiue executing my death warrant if i see him
