We can't let this thread die!!! my girls are developing pretty good, we are waiting on the Chemos and conkushions to start producing beautiful flowers, so the pictures will come later for the HSS plants...they are starting to grow hairs though! Anyway I am still on the fence concerning LEDs, I like the growth under the blackstar 240 so far, the plants under the HSS are still too young.

I hope that somebody will come soon and show off their LED buds because I have not seen many big fat buds coming from LEDs yet! Lots of talk, but no fat buds!! Please show off your girls! I am sure there is people out there finishing up their first crop with the 2012 LED lights, would love to see the results.

Here is my led grow... using htgsupply 240w 7 band knockoff of the blackstar and 4 26w cfl's

started 6 seeds to get 3 females...but ended up having all 6 female... it is cramped for space in there...

One led panel.. it is the 240w panel from htgsupply. But they put "black star" in the description on eBay. So I was saying that they were a rip off of the real blackstar panel.

Looking really great smithmark914! If you could squeeze another 240w panel in there, your plants would love you! Nice work, and thanks for sharing! I subbed up to your thread and will follow along =D Interested in the results! +rep

Thanks! I would like to get more light in there but I will likely be expanding once I move in the next couple of months. Will probably get a 1000w hps and us this led for veg.

After doing our first grow with LEDS (had to add in a 4 bulb T5 at week 5 due to slow growth) we came to the conclusion that 2x 240watt Blackstars is NOT enough for properly flowering 3 plants. We used a distance of approximately 4-6".

I think 1 500 watter per plant would be a good rule of thumb to use but for folks growing commerciall I don't know that the cost benefit is there.

It did grow a nice quality herb although fairly airy and lighter than HPS.

Hi, not sure if this is the right thread to be posting but as it's all ablout the LED so I thought it a good place to start, please let me know if I should be posting elsewhere. This is our first grow, we are growing 1 Barneys Farm G13 Haze plant, the set up is:

1 x Pro Source Illuminator UF0 90w LED
1 x Pro Source Flower Accelerator (used since starting 12/12 cycle)
Canna Terra Pro Soil
Biobizz Grow & Biobizz Bloom (nutes every other water)

We are into wk 8 of flowering and have noticed that a couple of the upper leaves have turned yellow, the rest of the plant looks healthy. It might be worth noting that we upped the nutes (Bloom) a few days ago and this may be whats triggered it but thought it worth asking you guys your opinion.

I have attached a few picture of the plant, the leaf in question is visable at the bottom right of the first image. Second image is of the full plant and third pic is just the top bud. I have taken the pics in normal light so you can see the dis-colouring better. These pics were taken a couple of days ago, the yellowing is a bit worse now and is also on the pair leaf.

Is this normal at this stage of flowing....? Could it be not enough Nitrogen...?? Any help, advice or comment would be welcome and appreciated :blsmoke:

We have decided to stop using nutes now and just use water

IMO your plant looks pretty great dopefreak... 8 weeks flower, so you've got what maybe 2-4 more weeks on that? The yellowing doesn't look like it has gotten too bad to me... some of it might just be due to natural processes that occur at this stage of maturation... I know that some of the fan leaves on the plants that I have grown have developed some yellow (and I know many other colors are possible depending on the strain) during the last 2-3 weeks, but I haven't considered it a real 'problem' that I have had to make adjustments for because, like with your plant, it hasn't been too bad...

/shrug I am probably wrong, and someone with more experience can chime in and help you clear that up

Thanks psytranceorgy, I was hoping for that kind of reply, hopefully on just water for the remaining weeks it'll flush nicely and stay as healthy looking (those shots are about 5 days ago and there are no more leaves with yellowing as yet, and the buds have all grown more hehe). Just over cautious as its the first grow I guess. Not long to go now, can't wait! :hump:

I wouldnt stop feeding if I were you (I grow in supersoil ... not much knowledge about bottled nutes), looks good. In my other flower room with HIDs, I am about 10 days away from harvest and the plants have been losing so many leaves, it's kind of normal, some experienced grower are able to harvest while the plants are still lush green but a bit of yellowing so late in flowering is not a big issue I heard. Next time you may want to look into LST or SCROG with those lights to get something more like this :

gotta keep an even canopy with leds

Thanks Endur0xX, was going to SCROG this one, but as its our first thought we'd let it grow free. The next grow were going to SCROG with a few plants and an additional 90w UFO lamp, hopefully it'll look like those :weed:

Any particular led light manufactures or marketers that stand out, good or bad? I'm starting to look into a complete cabinet system and don't want to waste any capitol buying incorrect components.

Thanks

those are looking great what led you use?
I have a Pro-Grow 180, A Blackstar 180, and a Blackstar 100...

The Blackstar 180 Grew this most of the way through, but it's got the PG180 and the BS180 on it now... prob another week left on her... trichs are cloudy and none are amber from what I can tell.

I'm fairly certain I harvested my last plant too soon, it has a heady high and tastes great, but it doesn't have the knockdown power I was hoping for. This plant is getting flowered into the fucking ground! lol

I have a dilemma. I have two of the 357 mag plus lights and I have a 1000w hps. What's the best way to distribute the light so that I get maximum quality and yields? I only have 4 plants and I was wondering if I would get better results by using the mags as side lighting, angling them down adjacent to the HPS, or just doing away with the HPS all together and just running the 357 Mags all the way through flowering? Please get back to me on this one. It's consuming me...

if you can afford it , run the 1000W on top and the 2 mag adjacent.... its alot of power for 4 plants , you should get some fat buds!!!
