pic of the colas...from left to right A, B, C (the 2L pop bottles) and E (the 11L bucket)

put most of my buds in jars except the colas from B and the bucket, which are on a rack inside a plastic food cooler.

the colas from A & C were so bad, I have never seen such fluffy shite in my life.........yes, I do have very high standards but this doesn't even come close to making the grade.

the cola from B is not so bad, and the bucket has produced some decent buds/cola...I think I'll try to make hash out of the other crap.

onto the current grow....I can't believe this plant, last week it decided to lean way over, have had it 180 degree since but it won't straighten...it looks like a LST

oh well....at least they are both doing okay....but a bit behind schedule...may need to finish them in the fall under the HPS

Made a new acquaintance over the past few wks, who has a few decades of backyard gardening experience. We worked out a trade, he was still smoking last summers crop, and needed some new flavors. I think I fared pretty good, getting Jilly Bean, Chernobyl, White Widow, and a little bit of something he calls Old Red, its a very good looking lavender, purple, red colored. I also got seeds for all the above mentioned.

And of course I shared seeds of Hawaiian strains and my crosses.

I have a bunch of 5 Gallon buckets left over from last Hempy grow w/ the drain holes. Is there any simple house-hold fix I can do without running out to the store so I can possibly patch these for clones I need to get into DWC? I have some plumbers putty if a bolt and/nut would do it... unsure about being exposed to water 24/7 though. Has anyone ever used any of their Hempy buckets by plugging the hole somehow? Just hate to go buy a bunch more buckets when I have plenty already.

I am interested in using lines to take my hempy overflow to a catch basin
as well...a similar situation. What sort of connector is available to hook
a line to a hempy.

I have seen kits online that ought to shed some light. I will look around.

My hempy's have 1/2" holes, and I installed 1/2" Rubber Grommets along with a Rubber Stopper if I want to plug the hole. At one time, I did not have a Flood Tray, so I had to water the plants in a catch basin, let them drain for a couple of minutes, then push the rubber stopper in and put them back in the tent. The stopper kept them from leaking all over the tent floor.

Good Luck!!

Well, I am thinking about 9 5 gallon buckets in a 3X3 array in a
5'X5' tent, using a 600W HID plus two Kessil 350s in support.

I would likely end up using a net, attached to the four corners,
for the plants to grow into if they do well.

(I am constrained mainly by head-space and so Veg time)

The reason that I go into this is that I will likely not be able to
take the plants out to water/feed them.

I would like to attach hoses to the drain holes, permanently if
necessary, to take the run-off to a catch basin.

I am just musing right now, but will be starting that crop soon.

Good luck, and thanks for taking the time.

Nice of you to drop by 808, what you growin' this round? Looks like it's got a sativa edge.
Thanks guys. I've been hiding in the background. Super busy lately so not able to post as much as I would like. To answer your question... the one on the right under the Hps is c99. And yea she's stretchy as hell. I wasn't able to trellis her earlier Cuz I've been so busy but I'm building a quick setup trellis with some PVC and string. The two in the center are pineapple express and on the far left are two holy grail kush.

I hear the cindy is a real bitch to grow but yours looks great.

Java and Drgribble...as far as a good glue that you will never have to worry about Marine Goop is absolutely the best. I used it extensively in a large nft set up and never had a leak...also worked great on my boat ;-) Rustys idea of gromets is fantastic too....

You guys have solved the one issue ive been having with big hempy plants that need trellising...next run those fuckers will be elevated with hosing so that i can water real well without all that extra moisture in the tent! Love this thread...I hope its founder Moe isnt doing time right now...havent seen any sign of him in a bit

Day 36 and they are bulking well and getting oh so frosty.securedownload-245.jpgsecuredownload-237.jpg You can see that i couldnt eradicate the thrips but i knocked em back real hard. Just dont feel good about using anything but sticky traps at this point. When i search i dont see any but ill see a flyer once in a while and there is obvious damage from em in spots. As much as i hate to lose my Bluedream I may end up just killing everything at harvest and either starting from seed or grabbing some cuttings. Although i suppose that a few small cuttings off my BD could be taken and thoroughly sterilized....I still have some BD x berry bomb seeds and a good 40 f2? s2? Berry bomb seeds. I wasnt super impressed with the one Berry Bomb female that i flowered but I did pollinate it and all 10 seeds that i started grew incredibly symetrical. Might be worth a shot. Cheers guys and gals

Marine Goop is a thick durable adhesive that is totally waterproof. If the holes are smaller than 1/2", you could just squirt some in and let it dry. Else you would need a piece of say flexible plastic from a milk jug to patch it with the same goop.

I started out with 1/2" barbs shoved into rubber grommets with 1/2" hose on the barbs. I set the 3.5g buckets on a wood pallet and shoved baking pans underneath to catch overflow. I have since moved to no overflow tubing with just $2.95 plastic oil drain pans under my buckets. Heck, since using rockwool in the res, I rarely even get overflow anymore for the last 2 grows. It sucks everything up that perlite didn't. I can't even say that hempy overflow during feeds is required anymore looking at plant health and roots on bucket breakdown. I do use a pinch of bene-micro's during transplant however to keep the wanted bacteria colonized.

jella if I remember correctly you use Piranha once during transplant to final bucket and then flip into flower. The feeding schedule says to use during wks 1 & 2 of flower. Do you know if they are talking about using just once at some point during the 1st 2wks, or every feeding during the 1st 2wks? I started using Piranha + Tarantula this run, I hit them the last wk of veg, and I'm hitting them again during wk 2. Do you think this is over kill? Or do you thinks I should have thrown more at them?

Just sayin, Why don't u use a cork, then you can take it out when u want to?

Oh yeah hi guys...having a hard time the last few days...

It's been stormy here too, the whole house rattled last night along with Hail...I did head to the basement, but it stopped.

The girls seem to be perking up under the new light...they look so happy, and we all know, there is not sweeter thing in the whole wide world than a Happy Girl!!!
