I went soil for a long time now. But still peeking at the good hempy peoples. Life is a bit of a mess but plants are doing great. Have a bunch of Bubblegum auto's going while i get my veg on with Breeders Boutique Dog's and Emerald triangle Black Berry Og's. Pulling out the aerocloner tomorrow and will have a bunch of hempys running under one of the lights.![]()
Sorry if I missed this in a previous post but ... Why do you use rainwater?Wow, today I was watering/nutes I noticed some off color in the leaves of two plants. I checked the rinsate and the pH was 5.2. It has been running 5.8 to 5.95. My feeding nutes or just water is pH'ed to 5.85 to 6.0, The only thing that has changed was the addition of the two inch coir layer placed on top of the plants. Now, I soaked the coir in a large tub of rain water twice, avg pH of my rainwater in 6.45. I drained it and flushed it with 6.0 pH adjusted rainwater twice. Then I put two inches over the top of my 65/35 Perlite/coir. I did put Clonex on the stems of the plants when I buried them in the coir. That would not change the pH of the water, there was not that much used.
So, I did a triple flush, love the base hole installed just for this purpose. Plugged drain hole with tape and filled each bucket with 6.0 to 6.1 pH rainwater, three times, and would remove the base stopper and let it drain completely. Only used the base drain the first two flushes, on the last one I removed the tape I have covering the drain hole and let it drain from there. I caught the rinsate and the PH was 5.95. Total of 15 gallons used on the 5 two gallon buckets. Going to water with straight pH'ed rainwater again the next watering then go back on my nute program.
I hope this was understandable, buddy came by with some new grow and we got stupid. He helped me with my task.
So I will track my rinsate for a bit. As I said I was having no issues until I added the two inch coir layer to the top of my buckets.
Peace out,
GR

I have a faint memory of someone saying their tapwater was had a quite high ph, can't remember if that was you.
ok so I went to the store and I think I got the wrong nutrients I got the dry maxibloom which I thought was part of the Lucas formula but now I'm starting to think I'm wrong anybody use maxibloom dry inside of the hempy?

I don't think you have to change the cap just bump up the cal for a watering, it will catch up quick enough.
I've got something I haven't seen before, it's general unhappiness. I've got 3 girls all the same strain, 2 seem to be very happy the third has canoed, twisted and clawed leaf most all in the upper growth. The transition started near the end of wk1 when I switched from the dual 400w cmh, to the 1k hps. Started at 30 inches all cringed, so I took the hood to ceiling, 3 days later 2 happy 1 not. Any ideas??
