Hey guys, I think I have an issue with my new drying room. Temps were around 56 degrees/65 humidity so I added a space heater in there which brought temps up to 65 degrees and humidity down to around 30%. The plants dried within 48 hours and I jared them with a hygrometer which read 60%. I opened the jar a day later and the buds didnt have any smell. I grew Northern lights so I didnt expect it to be really dank...But do you think the heater could have been a problem?....My buds usually dry fast but they always have a dank smell so this is new to me

Its gonna take a few days of the Jars being Burped daily before you get the smell.. Give it a few more days and she should start curing properly. :peace:

Yes, continue to burp the jars and you should notice a difference within a week. That's still alot of moisture in your buds at 60%, but as you burp you will begin to notice an aroma change.

Thats true, but usually even at 60-65% with other strains I could open the jar and it would be very aromatic, but then again this is my first time with this strain..so it may be a little different. I will continue burping and see what happens. Thanks guys!

I had the heating on in my drying room and I think I left my R.Cheese out a day or 2 too long. Its all a bit brittle. :wall: . Also some of the smell has gone but it tastes OK. ... I jarred most of it up .. the rest is in my freezer.

I think it'll still be good though, although I think I could have done better with the drying process. Luckly I noticed the conditions just after I put my GDP in the room so that won't be effected.

Going to try to adjust the moisture, or just wing it and hope all is good? Yummy jars, by the way.

Your plants look really good. Only thing i wouldnsay about some lagging is that in hempy its suoer important that roots are established in the reserviour before 12/12. I took a few that i was lazy with and moved em into gallon and a half pots right as i switched and they are 1/3rd the size of the ones i let establish themselves.
Duly noted thanks. I had one plant that I put in a fabric pot much earlier than the rest and that is one of the bigger plants, very noticeable . I ordered extra fabric pots going to throw them in a 4x4 tray with drip irrigation lines for veg while my other girls are flowering. Hopefully that will give the roots plenty of time to stretch so I can have some healthy monsters!:weed:

Some strains never lose their smells at all. GDP is one of them. I'm really really glad I switched to that strain. Its the bomb and 5 drying GDP are stinking out the room good.

OK .. So the other day Shiva asked it he could see a nanna. I believed it was cut leaf. .....

FFW today I am rolling a test joint. Boy, does it taste good! Almost like a liquorice with grapes and absolutely stinks! ... but I did find this. A seed husk

Maybe you were right Shiva, I havent seen any other signs but hey ..... nice spotting!

Those look great moe, What is the Humidity/temp in your drying room with your heater on and how long does it take to dry?

I'm not sure y'know. Regular domestic temps, maybe a little cooler than some people like.

Should be dry in about 4 -5 days. My bed is under those plants so I can't have it too cold.

Cheers bro.

Ive not seen ANY nanners .. In fact Ive never seen any on my plants, just lucky. ... but that IS is an empty seed husk. ... I can't see anything else on any of my other plants so that husk maybe an anomaly.

I'll be growing literally hundreds of these so I guess I'll see whats what.

Thanks Fi. I have 12 of them and they hold about 3 oz each.

Yes, I'll turn the heating down or off. I dont mind the cold but I was worried about moisture in the air so I turned it on the decrease any humidity. .. Decent room temperature is what I'm after. ........ I say that and realize all over the world 'room' temperature is different. LOL.

When you say decent, would assume 68-72F range for most rooms, unless you personally like it much warmer or cooler... or it's specific to grow room controlled conditions.

Yeah im currently swinging between 19-22 degrees c and 35-40% humidity. I keep em in my scrogbox or dry hanger. Its in the room my tent is in. Covered on top with black/white sheeting to keep dark out and moisture up.
Hope u are having a nice day. I went to Christiania today to pick up a brick. Got some cashmere :)
Been a fool in my garden lately. I have a Lemon Skunk vegging. I love it good looking and already smelling lemon. But i keep fumbling with it and dropping it. within 24 hours i had to pick it up from the floor 3 times. Damnit..
Well my Blue Mammoth is starting to frost up good, strange how the trichomes seem cloudy already, could this be the fact its a high cbd strain?. Its a bush with very limited stretch. Thinking of tucking in some fan leaves to expose budsites. 69 days from seed.
Enough rambling. pictures :) Oh and water cure is not for me at the moment i see to much resin loss at water change. Maybe when i have figured out a way to drain/fill very slow.

Yep .. thats Lemon Skunk in bud Woo Hoo. Its like seeing an old friend. .. It really produces the tastiest, Lemoniest buds I have ever smoked. The trichomes themselves seem larger. NO1 for bag appeal.... I would be growing it now save for its stretch.... I'm hoping I can get something similar in either the Lemon Kush or Lemonator.

Yours look AMAZING Hydro:weed:

Thanks for the kind words Moebius, sounds like my kinda smoke. Lemon fruity sweet sour, mm enjoy it all but there are preferences :) Grew a Violater Kush it was earthy moldish tasty, but then again it was a great sleep aid. Gotta give some credit to the hempy system. Damn its easy good :) Im looking forward to see what weight i gain from a stressed out plant in a 5liter container :)
Im loving the bho and im thinking of cutting up my baseballbat to make a container that would fit 30g (1oz) Damn im to high to calculate where i should cut it :) Whats your BHO extractor? Or do you extract otherwise?

Nope ... never made it, ... only ever tried it a couple of times years ago. LOL. ..... I want to make some though but need the education.

The first bubble I made was from the Lemon Skunk. It CANNNOT be beaten and tasted like 'Lemon HASH'. Made it from V.Kush, like you say Earthy and Musky and a typical 'HASH' flavor. .... Scissor hash from the GDP is really spectacular, its like a ganja you would find in an old fashioned sweetshop amongst the spiral candies and gobstoppers.... but too valuable in its raw form for the hash.

If I want to make BHO, what is the first piece of equipment I need? A stainless steel turkey baster?
