World's oldest marijuana stash totally busted !!

I posted this in the news section but for some reason ...very few people read that section .... thought it was worth a chat about .... what you guys think ?


Two pounds of still-green weed found in a 2,700-year-old Gobi Desert grave

Nearly two pounds of still-green plant material found in a 2,700-year-old grave in the Gobi Desert has just been identified as the world's oldest marijuana stash, according to a paper in the latest issue of the Journal of Experimental Botany.
A barrage of tests proves the marijuana possessed potent psychoactive properties and casts doubt on the theory that the ancients only grew the plant for hemp in order to make clothing, rope and other objects.
They apparently were getting high too.
Lead author Ethan Russo told Discovery News that the marijuana "is quite similar" to what's grown today.
"We know from both the chemical analysis and genetics that it could produce THC (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid synthase, the main psychoactive chemical in the plant)," he explained, adding that no one could feel its effects today, due to decomposition over the millennia.

I for one would love to know a bit more about its genetics ....i wonder if even a single seed was in the stash ?....can you imagin if it was to be re grown after all this time ...prolly not possible

It musta been his own genetics for them to bury 2 pounds with him .. or maby thats just how they cured it back then ... lol ... they just forgot to dig this harvest back up ...... I plan on being cremated upon death ... maby my wife will throw a couple pounds in the box to burn with me ... yea right lol

Maybe they believed there was not any mj in the afterlife, so his friends and family sent him along with some.

On a sidenote ..... sounds like a pretty big burial ground ? .... makes me wonder why so big ?

i would love to know the genetics of it. ive heard herb in that time was highly desirable and anyone who would be carrying it would have great importance. it sucks how the world is now.
