worms in soil?

is it a bad idea to have worms (the pink ones bout 3 or 4 inches long) in your soil?

we got some great natural soil here where im from. you can grab a hand full and squeeze it together into a ball and throw it on the ground and it breaks up. but theres also a few wroms in the soil i gathered, about 30 gallons of soil.

As far as I know, earth worms won't hurt you plants in any way. Now, if you've got other creepy crawlers in there like gnat larva, then that's a completely different story.
