I can personally anectodally attest to this. When I was preggo with my twins (before we knew it was twins) I had basically terrifically bad morning sickness that lasted all day. I couldn't tolerate the narcotic derived prescriptions normally used so my midwife told it would be far better for the baby for me to ingest cannabis to keep food down then continue being malnourished from the violent vomiting. It sucked, my throat bled alot, and after a few weeks of it I did some research and found similar studies, even going so far as to prove the neuroprotective and physcial stress hormone modulation properties of cannabinoids. I toked a little, ate as much as I could keep down. My boys were born at 34 weeks small but perfectly developed otherwise and healthy as could be. Zero interventions were needed for them aside from the C-section, and they were only held for 3 day to make sure they put on weight. By week 2 they graduated from 50cc bottles of pumped/preemie formula mix to 2 oz. Today they are bright articulate if sometimes wickedly naughty little boys, with no known delays. This even though I didn't know they were twins and didn't take extra vitamins, eat more, or rest as recommended because we didn't get an ultrasound until 28 weeks, I just kept getting told I was getting too fat and needed to eat less. I was working full time some days spending 4 hours at a time physically assisting disabled people with janitorial work. The stress contractions were wrenching but again their heartbeats were synchronized so I just thought I was being wipmy. Life is funny!
