Wrapping paper as mylar?!

I read somewhere that you can use the reverse side of most wrapping paper as mylar.

Will this work or would I just be heating the room?

I remember reading that somewhere also, but cant remember where, but the people using swore by it

well it might be over a year old but way to use the growfaq, there are people with a thousand post that dont know what that is.
