google has a better search function...mostly riu links will pop up when asking mj questions

search for weed smells like hay,
search will bring up all word with weed smells and hay so all posts with the word weed will pop up, not good!
search like this, ''weed smells like hay'' <----- job done.

Ive only chopped once.. It was on immature weed... I followed the directions on this forum and that weed is forever grass/hay smell...

My point is, Im sure a lot of people have read this entire forum plus 50 google finds as well and still wind up with hay smell.. Im just hoping my shit doesnt stay hay smell this time.

I recently cut a small branch off just to test drive the whole drying/curing thing. I just noticed today it's starting to lose it's scrumptious weed smell and gaining in grass/hay.... Im going to stick to the program and hope the hay smell disappears... Guess we'll see.

OK it's 10 days into curing and it's got no smell of MJ, don't smell like anything, what's wrong??? anyone?

did u trim your big fan leaves off before hanging to dry? could just be the smell of the chlorophyll in the leaves...

maybe you have a lame ass strain

or maybe your strain takes longer to bring out the odor you desire

maybe you should of done like everyone else said and read the grow faq

doesn't matter how good ur bud is when its cut it will always smell like grass! lol put it in a mason jar and give it at least 3 or 4 weeks, opening the lid for a few hours each day. Try a bit after 3 weeks an i guarantee it'll be the best smellin pot ever! It's just the way it is, i was so shocked first time i grew, had some awesome buds but after dryin jus smelt like grass, after a month of curing it was the nicest smelling/tasting weed i'd ever put my hands on, just needs time dude, be patient!

i hope so. So how long usually before the grass smell is gone and MJ smell is back, it's Big Buddha Chez.

I have had plenty of bud that wasnt cured that didnt smell like grass, most drug dealers arent curing their weed, they are barely drying it, and it smells funky. Curing definitely helps but it doesnt mean it will absolutely smell like grass if you dont. You probably harvested it to early, bud that isnt ready will smell like grass/hay

I've had groups that let go of a mad grass stench when hangin' out, and I've had some that didn't.

The grass smell comin' out is good. It's chlorophyll and other shit exiting the bud. Hang that shit for 3-7 days, then jar it. Open jars until sure no mold will form.
