Hi everyone. Well I tried my hand at cloning, and I wanted to pass on some of my observations. First and foremost, I had read conflicting posts regarding humidity domes. On the one hand you have those who like them and view them as vital to healthy clones. On the other hand, there are those who declare that humidity domes are a bad idea as it increases the likelihood that your clones will mold. I started out without dome, and after the first night, all but one clone looked totally dead. So I went ahead and put them under a plastic cover, and upon returning home from work, voila all babies perked right up and doing fine.

My conclusion, and I should have considered this possibility, is that posters who live in already high humidity environments, and are thus more predisposed to mold problems, don't like the domes, while those who live in drier climates see better results using domes.

Also, wanted to pass on to those wanting to clone small numbers of clones that those plastic covers that come on supermarket cakes are a way cheap alternative to purchasing humidity domes. I am growing on a shoe string, and when I needed a dome, already had cake cover that was on its way to the trash, and this worked wonderfully. Happy growing to all.
