yay for censorship

I hate censorship. i dont get why posts/threads get deleated over swearing. i thought it was a requirement for everyone here to be a adult... im sure we have all heard it, why do we have to act like this place is gradeschool.

i understand not wanting this place to turn into a toilet. but i also dont see why it has to become like china.

thing that burns me is, instead of being notified, and asked to edit the swearing, "someone" simply killed it. lame. as the thread was to draw attention to a real sick one, and wasnt intended to offend, i think that was a lame aproach. but whatever, that seems to be the prevailing way around here.

im not dissing the site, or its staff. but my opinion of how things are handled sometimes is my opinion.

censorship is crap, and at the base of it, it deprives us of one of our few true rights. free speech.

Wont suprise me if this gets deleated too. its not in violation of the tems of use (so far as i understand english), but nothing surprises me anymore. Its critical of the way things are done here. (im sure thats a crime too now...)

Feel you dude. I'm Scottish and the word "cunt" is used in a variety of ways up here. We are the only nation I believe who refer to a mate or friend as "Tom! Aye he's a good cunt".

I have been censored here before aswell, I was being a bit of a cunt though (not the good type)

and i just got caled a baby by site staff cause i "complained" about censorship. im actually pretty pissed about that. to the point i might leave. either for a while or for good. as i cant speak freely back (without getting banned im sure) im going to be a adult and walk away. im not looking to play games with site staff, or get banned (i might return in a bit).

RIU is one of the least censoring site I know of, that includes mmj sites as well. I do not know what happened in this particular instance but I guess it would have to be bad.

Cool, but you gotta remember, this isn't the USA up in here, this is a privately owned website, and the owners/moderators can censor what they want, when they want, on a whim. It's their right. Purchase your own website and you can put what you damned well please on it, until then perhaps you should choose your battles? No one is going to agree that we should infringe on the rights of the website owners.

all i know is from day 1 kush has been nothing but a problem, getting pissed off whenever we delete his posts calling people foul language names, complaining about every little thing, maybe if you followed the rules your posts wouldnt be deleted.

all he does is go through finshaggys threads and beat on him, like brings up old old threads too, just because he doesnt like the guy,, instead of using our ignore feature he LOOKS for people he doesnt like and goes through their threads and posts excessive foul language name calling, he also is extremely rude to the members.
than complains about censorship. complains about the website, how he doesnt like it here, just log out if youre so unhappy, or stop compaling at every turn and corner

RIU is privately owned, and you AGREED to this statement when you sign up The owners of Rollitup.org have the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.

Last time i checked this was a privately owned and moderated website. Not exactly a government they're running here

Don't worry about it, the mods/staff have the discretion to modify/delete anything
they deem worthy.

This site really is very light on censorship compared to most. The politics section is a good
example.

I love how people are saying im pissed cause my thread got deleated. im not pissed at all, im stating my OPPINION.

it says right in my op, i think its lame. i dont see where i got pissed off.

but i guess i should go to english school. im an idiot? that must be it.

i am logging out tho, i guess ill just go back to actually doing things with my day. i came here cause i was lonely, now im sick of people. funny how that works.

It's because you stated your OPINION, and then kept trying to defend it, that equals an argument. If it's your opinion, you state it and then be damned what anyone else says. No need for all the replying and commenting back and forth.
