yeast and sugar co2 production problem

hi all
i have a wee problem with my co2 production kit ive made a bottle and tube set up and put the bottle in the middle of the plants with the tubes pinned above them the problem i have is the gunk thats produced from the yeast is clogging up the tubes its a pain in the rectum cleaning them out any suggestions please

wait for the yeast spores to start slimeing up your res and pumps... its just not a good situation to use it...

ive made a little 2 liter pop bottle test thing and it seems to not make much, probably used wrong yeast but i'm guna stick to the exhale brick bags, they pretty coo an last FOREVER i've noticed....

thank you for your replies im growing in soil so i dont have pumps i have noticed though that it has really boosted the plants compaired to my last grow were i didnt used co2 but untill i can find exhale brick bags what are they and where do i get them from in the uk? ill have to use whats to hand

it's not the sugar yeast crap that boosted your grow, but probably your improved growing skills...

yeh dont put too much yeast n shit it i made one ages ago like 1st grow and suffocated me plats they wer like doubled over after 12 hrs lol so be very carefuill

im using a 2 ltr bottle filled half way about half lb of sugar and a tablespoon of yeast so far so good with good ventilation cheers for the reply

Consider using a larger starting container or pipe the main container into another container entering high on this second container. Then also high on the second container connect to your delivery system with the gunk caught in the second container.

It's not enough Co2 to worry about, though it won't do that if you do not fill the container all the way up with the liquid.

Get done c02 bags from exhale

cheers peeps took on board all u said and reduced the yeast so less gunk and am workin on a secondary bottle system working much better

CO2 is heavier than air so you do need to keep your generator above plant level.
I use a one-gallon jug with a handle - add 2 cups sugar and 2 tablespoons of brewers yeast.
Add 1/2 gallon hot water and shake. You don't really need the tubes coming out of the
generator. As the yeast attacks the sugar carbon dioxide is produced as a result. The CO2
will form as bubbles and "cook off" the top. The bubbles don't need tubes or pipes to find
the top and escape. I replenish my generator every 4 days while flowering.

I personally think using any of these home Co2 production methods won't do squat. First off the plant needs a consistent and fairly high amount of Co2 to do anything. Also, if you have any exhaust fans what-so-ever you can say good-bye to your Co2. Another thing to note is Co2 has not much effect on plants unless the temperatures are in the 90's. So, if you don't have a perfectly sealed room you are wasting your time. This is not just my opinion, it is fact.

I think as someone stated already the fact your plants are growing better with the Co2 is because you are becoming a better grower, so good for you! Just scrap the Co2 idea for now and focus your efforts on other more important matters. Hope this helps and keep her green!
