What is wrong with this outdoor plant?
The plant is 10 weeks old, 12 high, 10 sets of leaves (2 sets fans have dropped, another set about to drop). New growth (between initial fan leaves, and stem) is very slow.
Watered when needed (no problem there), has had a few occasional doses of SUPERthrive (vitamins). Soil PH is tested and is fine, good soil mix, good drainage. Fertilized with Guano 10-10-2 mix, has had 4 doses at half recommended strength (every 2 3 weeks). Getting plenty of sun.
Symptoms:
Slow growth with fine leaves. Leaves all praying. Bottom of plant yellowish, top green. Lowest fan leaves (over 7 day period) turn from yellowish to brown then shrivel up, dry and drop off (This has happened to 3 sets now).
I advised my mate it could be a magnesium deficiency, and to try some Epsom salts. He has given 4 doses over a 3 week period (3/4 tsp in 2lts of water), with no change in condition.
Any Suggestions?
(I am aware pics would help... I will try to get some. ...but have a go at solving the problem anyway)
Thanx
