Yellow leaf mobile deficiency help.

First thing first, Watsup RIU!

I'm into my 3rd grow right now and I ran into a little deficiency.

I first thought it was a magnesium def so I sprayed some RO water with Epsom (1/4 tbs into one L)
After one night, things are getting worst!

They are 38 days after germination. Still in 18/6. I have 17 plants. I'd say, 4 of them are showing def/toxic signs.

Can anybody help me to fix this?

Please! Thanks for your time.

I grow in Soil, using GH Floranova grow (10ml into 5gl) + 1ml Rapidstart every watering, when there is about 3/4" of dry soil on top (3-5 days).
6.5 PHd water (tap water which I let sit for more than 48h), i am watering till a little runoff.
T5HO Light (8 x 4' with 6500k spectrum) at about 3 inch of the canopy.
Soil is Pro-Mix with mycorrhizae.
Strain is White Widow from Dutch Passion.

Here is some pictures...

Yellow leaf from the older one plus necrosis spots...

How old are they ? They have either been fed too much fert or not enough imho...? Hold back with the epsom salts at the moment also....
I forgot to mention, my bad. They are 38 days after germination. Still in 18/6. I have 17 plants. I'd say, 4 of them are showing def/toxic signs. Thanks for your input Slyone.

Any stem or petiole discoloration on the offending girls that isn't on the happy girls?
Hi Rob. As I can see, the good girls are reppin' some pale green stem/pitiole but the offending ones are more into purps tone.

I suspected that might be the case based on how the leaves were looking. A friend has a similar problem going, and is running a few different strains in pro-mix.

His water was the suspect as the PH was too high. That's getting fixed, but we suspect the mineral content, or possibly salt content in the water could be in the equation.

Your purple stems could be phosphorus related. Whether it's because they got too much or are locked up might be the next question.

It might not hurt to flush, then transplant the offending girls and see what that does. Some people recommend in the short term anyway, some foliar spraying if they think there's a lockout going on at the root level. You might not need to do the foliar though if you transplant to a bigger "uncontaminated" container and they perk up. Good luck.

Thanks Rob. I'll try to wash the anarchists ones and then transplant them into some fresh pro-mix soil in a bigger container, will see if this can save their souls. Thanks for the reply, I appreciated it.

Ok. Here is an update...

I flush the medium and then transplanted them into bigger pots.

After the transplant, there wasn't enough room in my 2x4 tent for them all. So I took 9 of them and placed them under a 600w mh in a 4x4 tent.

There's something I can't figure out.. In the original 2x4 tent with my 8 4' t5ho, plants are still showing some brown spots and some of the leaf continued to tend onto the yellowish side..

But in the 4x4, all of them are in good shape now. No more yellowish.

Temp is the same in the 4x4 and the 2x2.. Around 77f (25c).

I suspected that the t5ho was too close and make the leaf to dry out, as the yellow ones are very crispy. Lights was about 3 to 4 " from canopy. Also, stem in the 2x2 arw still a little bit on the purple side but in 4x4, all the stem are a healthy green.

Any clue?

Thanks again!

If it was the light being too close...the affected leaves would be the top ones...the ones closest to the lightsource....they tend to go yellowish white before getting crispy.
I just rescued my girls with the same issue....started with a flush of epsom salts while I waited for a liquid cal/mag supplement. It can spiral out of control real quick.

Another little note....even once the problemm is fixed....the damaged yellow and brown spotted leaves wont come around...I pulled all heavily damaged leaves off to make it easier for me to spot if more were changing OR the problem was on the mend.
Also...the PH of your water/soil will effect what nutrients are available and how much the plants uptake.

I have recently had a problem similar where my plant was showing all sorts of deficiencies. I phd my water and it was just under 8. I flushed my soil and it was coming out at 5.2.

I flushed with phd water at 6.7ish until it was stable coming out and sitting around the ppm of the water. I have them a good helping of mutes and the next couple days the new growth and even some of the light green on older growth was going away and the plant was perking up.

I upped my temps a couple degrees, too just to help with moisture and get the plant to take in more. Though, not over 80

However they did show signs of stress from the ph change.

Agree....a PH problem wll show multiple symptoms...makes diagnosis hard. SilentQ I bet you plants are a little waterlogged from the flush as well as the ph flux. Its nice to bring a plant back around from a bout of illness.

Definitely, they were droopy after so I put it on a stand to let the air circulate to the bottom of the smart pot and upped the temp a few degrees to get water and nutes moving. Perked right up this morning and are getting proper green colours.

One good way to tell what is going on if there are multiple symptoms is to check out the ph charts for nutes and if they match one set of nutes for ph problems that is usually ph. After the flush and ph stabilization a good general purpose veg fert will do good.

Two very Common problems for any grower: 1) Cal-Mag Deficiency 2) PH Problems.
There's sometimes a learning curve for beginners that haven't previously sampled their soil or water source for their PH levels. It helps to have an experienced grower show you hands on how to use the tools, instead of hoping you can research it well enough to assume you're doing it right. Sometimes the variation in PH can differ. Until you have taken PH enough times, you may not be able to rely on your readings. I still check three times minimum when doing my PH, in order to account for human error.
