yellow leaves in flower?

I know its normal for some yellowing to occur during flowering but at about what week does this begin? I'm probably at like the 4th or 5th week and it has been yellowing from the bottom up, starting with old fan leaves and moving to newer fan leaves.

Is this normal or a nitrogen deficiency? Should I be concerned? I'll post some pictures later. Thanks :)

Depends partly on strain. This doesn't sound unusual, if you have, say, 2 weeks to go, this would sound pretty close to ideal. Some difference of opinion on this between growers.

its sour diesel and bubba. I'm not exactly sure how long i have to go since this is my first time growing :( I assumed I still had a few weeks to go, at least. Thanks though :)

hopefully when i give it some nutes tomorrow itll perk up, if its a problem.

I have no experience with the strain(s) of this plant, so take estimate with a grain of salt. Thinking maybe 4 weeks, not much less. Plant looks very good overall. Looks like it might be a bit nute short for the stage it is at. 2nd opinions would be good.

thanks a lot man :) i appreciate it. That's pretty much what I'm figuring, but I didn't want to nute it up if it didn't need it, since that would probably cause worse problems.

I'm gonna buy/give it some FF bloom or tiger bloom tomorrow. Is that a bad idea? Should i give it something with more nitrogen first?

it's a tough call. your plan sounds good i think, those nutes have a bit of N? what you do want to do is to give a 'maintainance dose' of N, just enough to tide you through maybe 2 weeks. after that, well let the plant pull it out of the fan leaves

Well, I had them in Ocean's forest soil so I haven't really given them many nutes. Before I started flowering i gave them some fertilizer somebody gave me that was good for vegetative growth (something bought at lowes probably) but other than that they haven't really gotten any nutes.

Give it a healthy dose of Fox Farm Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom is good, but Big Bloom will really bring em back to life. I don't think leaves should be yellowing severely at 4 weeks into flower. How fast did this happen? Whats the ph at? Nice Grow.

yeah, the buds should be closer to full sized when they start to turn. i'd estimate they should go at least two more weeks before then. look good otherwise :peace:

Okay, thanks a lot guys. I'll buy some big bloom today :)

In answer to your questions: I'm not sure what the ph is. It shouldn't be too high since I almost always use filtered water to water them. and I think it took about a week for this to happen. At least, I noticed it at the beginning of this week and it has been getting a little worse each day.

I bought some big bloom :) About how much do you think I should use per gallon? The container says 1/2 cup. Would that be ok?

I noticed big bloom has more K than P, and tiger bloom has more K than P. Strange.

No. Use 1/4 strength. You'll burn them first time full dose. You can go from 1/4 strength to 1/2 strength. I think you'll burn them 1/2 cup. 1/2 cup I believe is for "heavy" feeding. Use 2 tbs per gallon first time. Also, buy some "overdrive" by advanced nutrients, about now is optimal. (week 5-6).
