Can anyone help with what could be causing this? First time grower at 70 years old I thought I knew about gardening so should be able to grow a weed, now not so sure lol.

Looks like she's starving to me. Need more than EWC and some molasses with the Veg & Herb. It vegs plants great but doesn't have enough to see a plant thru to the end. I've used it and had nothing but trouble with it so sticking to ProMix HP using either 3-part hydro nutes or Mega Crop. The organic nutes in the V&G is just a light charge to get plants going and it does that well but it's not a whole foods approach to media like FFOF is.

If the plan was to stay organic then you'll need more inputs. Plenty of 'off the shelf' organic nutes or various other amendments to give plants a balanced diet but they generally need to be mixed into your soil and allowed to 'cook' for some time so the micro-herd in the soil has time to break down the organic matter in the salts that plants need. I skip the middle man and feed them salts directly in the nutes.
