Spinosad for the thrips and EPA says it’s food safe. . . And not light reactive. . . Could also purchase ladybugs.

I sprayed them down with citric acid this evening. If anything it seemed to piss those buggers off.

Fingers crossed that it doesn't burn the plants.

Spinosad is impossible to find in Canada
It was under review back in 2018.

Apparently it's still under review. That doesn't mean there is a stop sale order or anything. And it looks like they're just determining the maximum residue limit (MRL).

https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/consumer-product-safety/pesticides-pest-management/public/consultations/proposed-maximum-residue-limit/2021/spinosad.html

I wish that stuff was banned across the entire North American continent. It's not the small number of cannabis growers using it but the masses of people spraying it all around their yard and garden. Vegetables, flowers , and everything. Spinosad is highly toxic to bees and other beneficial insects, butterflies, etc... It's no wonder the bee populations are collapsing, the Monarch Butterfly could be extinct within the decade, and a host of other issues detrimental to the ecosystem can all be traced to the use of products like spinosad.

We're killing the planet slowly day by day. When the bees go so does the food supply. I hope I'm not around when that happens. When it does people won't be worried about getting rid of some bugs on their cannabis plants they'll be worried about getting something to eat.

I think the citric acid is taking care of the adults. I will keep spraying ever second day until the life cycle runs is course.

Also found the culprit eating the leaves on my one plant. I think the damage is already been done on that plant but it is ready to be harvested anyways. The rest of the garden got a spray with BTK as a precautionary measure.

Glad to hear you're getting a handle on it..

Did you not see anymore the rest of the way through flower? I was just hit with thrips across my whole grow... I have another month to go for my plants closest to harvest... I might cry.
