your soil looks a little dense. Your roots might not be getting enough air.

N deficiency would be my guess, lower fan leaves DO naturally yellow and die but not until your atleast halfway through your grow.
you are going to need to give more info like nutes and age etc. also take a pic of the whole plant not just the bottom part.

Fresh soil needed ''URGENT'' feeding more only kills faster, take it slow on the slow lane in slow street, in slow city.

Keep your new soil nice and loose ok, not to loose if your fingers go through easy so will the roots, but buy new soil ''fast'' they will thank you.

the soil is just plain topsoil from homedepot w/o perlite i should put some in but i figured if weed has been growing outside for billions of years w/o perlite why can't it grow indoors w/o perlite

The soil looks to packed '' TIGHT'' change it, take out the plant loosen the soil from the roots replant in new soil, they will thank you.
