My first set of TRUE leaves are much duller than my second third and fourth set, although not yellow I fear they will be!! Am I worring to much or is this a legitimate concern?

have you fertilized them yet? Also on my first grow I had this same problem, I simply cut the yellow ones. Its prolly bc ur growing in too smal of container. Bc that is why mine did that.

Hi, So many questions come to mind: How often are you watering, planted in dirt or hydroponic medium, what nutes and what concentrations of nutes.
Most common cause of yellowing lower leaves is too frequent a watering pattern. Which is where 'dirt or hydro' comes in....Dirt you want to allow the root zone to dry about half way out before watering again.
Hydro irrigation frequency really depends on what your planting meduim is...I.E. Hydroton dries way quicker than Coco or perlite/vermiculite. Hydro usually requires several waterings a day depending on medium.
It's also common to over fertilize, especially if you follow mfg. recomendations. Generally start hydro mixes at half strength until you see how your plants like it then work up and experiment until you get a healthy looking plant on a regular basis from the same recipe. Example: I use 3 parts grow to 1 part bloom in the veg side and mostly bloom with a titch of grow in the flower side. I use micro nutes as an additive.
Anyway hope this helps. Can you take a pic? Happy Gardening! GrowIT!:weed:

The two round leaves? All mine yellow and fall off, I am smoking bud from that plant now and I can tell you she didn't mind. First set of true leaves, hmm you need to shoot a pic

you're talking about cotyledons. hes talking about fan leaves that havent started yet. pics will help. If you havent nuted yet its most likely overwatering. put a humidity dome or plastic wrap over you seedling

I have to agree about the over-nuteing. Sounds like you might have some nute troubles going on right now.

But if you're not using them yet, then it is probably overwatering. It's just better to underwater as that's just so much easier to correct than overwatering.

Your plant will probably be fine, but this is a good lesson to learn since you probably won't be making it again.

I'm not sure why you're being told to put a humidity dome over your plant since that seems like it would add to the moisture in the plant. Though I guess it would seem to trap in the moisture already in the plant, so that you don't add anything more until the plant actually needs it.

Actually, that would be a good trick. Huh, never even thought of that.

always learning something new here even after all these years.

I wouldnt worry to much about it , every seedling Ive ever grown tends to lose the lower leaves .

I don't think there is any problem. Over nute is clear and easy to figure out, your leafs do the claw and your tips start to burn, or hell the whole leaf does.. lol

Yellow leafs is not a problem. I wanted a pic to decide if you were using too little nutes, not too many. New growth is fine right, you don't hear people saying hey I burned my fucking lower leafs off, good thing the tops ones are ok.. :) I whacked a grip of lower leafs off my clones last night, lack of light and laying on the res where their demise. Probably nothing bro.
